*Hyde's P.O.V.*
I stared at Clary. She was so beautiful. When I was drawing, I heard a gasp outside my window. So, I decided to come outside and see the problem. When I saw Clary looking in my window... I nearly died, right there.
"I-I wasn't... I didn't mean.... I just..." Clary stuttered. It was cute. But why didn't she go home when I left?
"Why didn't you go home?" I asked, voice soft.
She stopped, dead in her tracks, and looked like she was about to cry. But it seemed as though she has built a barrier and isn't going to let it break just yet. She straightens her back upward and looks uncomfortable for a minute.
"Clary?"
And the barrier breaks.
*Clary's P.O.V.*
"Why didn't you go home?" Hyde asked me, making sure to keep his voice soft.
I can't tell him... He'll tell the police... He'll tell everyone... He'll do the same to me... I tried my best not to cry. I try to appear normal and straighten my back and shrug my shoulders, but I believe I failed, because Hyde then asked, "Clary?"
I gave up. I fell to the ground, my hands to my face, crying. I was shaking so bad.
He grabbed me in his arms, bridal style, and carried me inside. He set me on his bed, and sat next to me, my head mating on his shoulder, him rubbing his hands through my hair. I've never cried this much in my life. Not in front of someone I barely knew, anyways. "Shh," he said. "You're okay."
But I'm not okay. I never have been. Never will be. But I didn't say anything and just kept crying.
Eventually I stopped, and I was sitting in the kitchen with Hyde, him making us hot chocolate.
"Hyde?" I asked.
"Yes, Clary?" he said, eyes on the mug he was holding.
"Is it too much to ask if I can stay here for a few days?"
Now he looks at me. "Why?"
I stay silent.
He sighs. "Sure. You can stay here as long as you'd like. My home is your home."
There was something about the way he said that....
"Thank you," I said, and hugged him.
He hugged me back. "Anytime, cupcake. Here." He handed me a mug of hot chocolate.
I put the glass to my lips and took a sip of the warm chocolate. I closed my eyes, and tilted my hair back. Mmm, I thought
Staying with Hyde might not be so bad.
