"Are you sure you're okay for this?" you asked.

The both of you walked away from the scene.  Chrollo's hands were wrapped firmly around your shoulder to support him while he limps. Hisses and faint curses escaped his clenched teeth every time a rocky step had to be done. The entirety of your hands were also clinging close to Chrollo, gripping his waist.

"Don't mind," he muttered. "Just keep walking, (Y/N)."

After what felt like hours of walking, Chrollo led you both to a small wooden house. You were down to investigate the surroundings but Chrollo called it off. He assured you that it was safe. The small space looked cozy when he flicked on the switch. E/c orbs scattered around the place, familiarizing yourself with the new area.

"Sit here, I'll be right back." You let down Chrollo's aching figure carefully on a couch. He let out a groan as your hands slipped away from his waist.

You walked away to find some towels in the bathroom, soaking them for Chrollo's healing injury. But as you strutted your way back to the room, the view of Chrollo crouching in front of the fireplace greeted your line of sight.

"You were faking it this whole time?" you exclaimed in surprise, earning no reaction from Chrollo.

"Machi works fast, (Y/N). And I wouldn't be clumsy enough to walk around when I'm frail."

"Then why did you fake it?"

Chrollo lit up a fire and brushed his hands, dusting his hands off the remaining wooden dust. He stood up and faced you. You crossed your arms in annoyance. All the frantic limping that happened earlier wasn't even necessary.

"I apologize that I have deceived you, but..."

"But what?"

"You worrying over my health had really touched me, (Y/N), and I feel lighter when you had your arms embracing me," Chrollo continued. He cleared his throat seconds after, batting an eye to somewhere other than your face.

"Are you serious?" you asked him, sounding genuinely curious.

"I-I don't understand what's happening to me but that's what I feel."

You walked over to where Chrollo was shyly standing and pulled him close into a hug. You could feel him stiffen up under your touch as you wrapped around his waist. You buried your face on his chest, ears hearing the rhythm of his chest paced quickly. You drew an absolute grin on your lips.

Chrollo wasn't sure of what he was supposed to do, but he did what normal people should do in a hug. His admirably broad arms suddenly wrapping around your figure, chin completely resting above your skull.

"I understand how you feel, Chrollo," you whispered softly. Chrollo closed his eyes to the sound of your voice muzzling on his chest.

"I really-really-really care for you, (Y/N). And it warms me when you did the same to me," he sighed. You thought that sounded like a confession he was struggling to take off his chest.

You and Chrollo stood still for a while, drowning within the shared snuggle. Entangled in the warmth of his body heat made you ponder about the current situation.

"What are we even doing," you said, breaking the hug off. Chrollo's black orbs fixated on your current troubled expression. Your cheeks were nothing but a blushing mess.

"I'm not sure but I like it," he cheekily said. He threw his hair back with his dainty fingers. A cocky smirk plastered his lips as his eyes drooped down made you scoff.

"You are completely sure you're well?" you asked Chrollo once again, earning an earnest nod from him. "I am, thank you for asking."

You gave him a smile and sat down on the same couch Chrollo laid on earlier. Chrollo walked up to a bookshelf that wasn't far from where he was standing.

"Whose house is this, anyways?" you asked him.

"It's mine." His subtle tone made your eyes widened.

"It's a silent getaway. The base can get a little—noisy."

Your brows knitted in confusion. You shifted your attention fully to Chrollo who stood about seven feet apart from you. "Noisy? Don't the spiders obey you?"

"I know about Hisoka and Machi's affair, (Y/N)," he replied. "Together, they are quite the rebels to peace and quiet."

Your face pruned in disgust, making the man in the torn off suit chuckle. You shook your head to lock unwanted thoughts from infiltrating you any further.

Your vision trailed the half-ridged suit Chrollo was wearing. "Don't you wanna change, Chrollo?"

His face lit up in realization as he saw most of his shirt is covered in excess dirt and red stains. You chuckled lightly due to his delayed reaction.

"I'll go change for a while, will you excuse me?"

"Go ahead."

You laid your figure flat on the couch. The wooden ceiling was only for you to stare but you opted to close your lids. Resting slightly after a breakthrough of activities you had to go through today sounded heavily to you. Unbeknownst to your consciousness, you drifted off to sleep.

"(Y/N)?"

The soft voice woke you up from the slumber you indulged in. "Oh shit, I fell asleep," you groggily said.

"I apologize for waking you up," he muttered. His dainty fingers were busy tidying the strands of your bed hair. He tucked the sides of your locks behind your ear with a grin.

"Heavens took their time when they crafted you. You're beautiful, (Y/N)," Chrollo praised you. Your cheeks tinted a harsh red in no time.

"Did something happen?" you asked Chrollo. You questioned the reason behind why he woke you up.

"I wanted to ask if you want to go home because it's late. But I'm also open if you want to stay the night," he gently offered.

You gulped down a bucket of emotions. The chivalry he opted to wash you away with has never failed to surprise you. His gentle voice and genuine smile gave it away for you.

"I think I'll stay for the night. Thank you, Chrollo."

"Follow me, then."

You stood up and followed Chrollo's footsteps. He led you to a door that opened to a single bedroom. The single-sized bed harshly contrasted with the one he had inside the Troupe's base. You looked up to meet Chrollo's eyes, spilling with nervousness.

"Is there something wrong?" he asked you.

"How are we going to rest on that?" you replied back, referring the available mattress across you.

He gave you a wide grin. The feeling of his dainty fingers rummaging were felt once more on your scalp. "You're sleeping there (Y/N), Not me."

"Not you?" you asked him in advance.

"Of course. I'm snoozing on the couch, just like last time."

A memory of your first time staying over at Chrollo's office flashed through your mind. It seems like he still stood by his principle to drift off on the same space as you. Your cheeks flushed red in embarrassment.

"Right. What was I thinking," you scoffed shyly.

A finger snaked under your chin, turning your head completely to face the tall handsome young man. He smirked, tantalizing you with his eyes. "What were you thinking about, hm?"

"No-nothing. Forget it," countering him immediately before your cheeks could reveal your true feelings. Chrollo gave you a quick caress on the cheek.

Chrollo left you standing by the window frame and walked over to his spot for the night. "Well I'm pretty exhausted so I think I'll doze off first."

And just like that, Chrollo, the unexpectedly flirty bastard, shot you a cocky grin. "Good night, sweet dreams."

You rolled your eyes and bit the walls of your cheeks. "Good night, Chrollo." After closing the bedroom door you quickly doze off to bed.
