"George. You locked the door. I need to take a shower" Ava shouted rattling on the door handle.
"Uh, uh, I'll be out in a minute" he shouted.
"What are you doing in there?" She questioned noticing George's strained voice.
"It's private" he replied
"Oh. Oh, God. l'm sorry. l get it." She laughed "I didn't mean to interrupt."she continued.
"No, it's not that!" He answered quickly
"It's okay, take your time" she replied
"l am not doing what you think l'm doing." He shouted
"I'll wait. You just...finish" she said
"No, l'm... l'm coming. l'm coming out!" He said opening the door and rushing past her.

"There's no reason to be ashamed." Said Ava teasingly "lt's normal. Healthy, even." She added.
"l'm not ashamed 'cause l wasn't doing anything." He said "l don't have to. l have a girlfriend."
"An imaginary girlfriend?" She asked
"An actual girlfriend" he answered
"You know what? lt's no big deal. You don't have to lie. l get it. You have needs." She laughed
"What is going on out here?" Christina asked as here and Izzie walked around the corner.
"Nothing" said George a little to quickly
"He's freaked out 'cause l caught him
playing with little Jimmy and the twins." Ava said causing Izzie to gasp and Christina to smirk.
"I have a girlfriend" he said annoyed
"Okay" said Izzie giggling.

"Patient presented with abdominal pain and blood in his urine. Once his workup
came back unrevealing, the urologist suggested a cystoscopy." Said Ava while presenting the rounds
"Reason?" Asked Dr Burke
"To get a look inside the bladder" she answered quickly. Behind her Meredith stared at her pride evident in her eyes.

Ava was sent to run tests and labs on the patient and spent hours running back and fourth through the maze that was Seattle Grace hospital.

The interns met up again at lunch in the basement. Ava and Meredith sat together on a bed, Christina lied across them while Izzie, George and Alex sat opposite them.
"Hey George, what did you get? Something good?" Izzie asked noticing the file in his hands.
Peering over his shoulder he read the file "Syphilis? That's not surgical. Who has syphilis?" She asked confused
"You have syphilis?" She shouted a look of realisation spreading on her face.
"Shhhh!" He whisper shouted at her
They spent the next half an hour teasing George or 'syph boy' as Christina had taken to calling him. Ava noticed how Alex was shifting uncomfortably in his seat l, electing to questioning him later.

George's secret most likely because of the nurses was everywhere by the next time they saw each other. The name "syph-boy" had replaced the nickname "007" and it was being used to taunt him everywhere he turned.

Ava had spent the day scrubbing in on the surgery for her patient from earlier turns out his bladder was an ovary so they had to remove it.

"Three interns, four residents and six nurses on this surgical floor have been diagnosed with... syphilis." Spoke dr Webber looking angry

"There are over 70,000 new cases every year. Undiagnosed, syphilis can lead to
blindness, insanity and death. lf you are having unprotected sex with another member of the staff, get tested. This is not a request." He continued
At this the room burst into laughter. Ava caught Merediths eye and the sisters burst into fits of giggles

"Patricia will now give you a safe-sex demonstration." He said looking mortified. Laughing filled the room as tears started to flow silently down Ava's face.

"When the time is right, and, gentlemen, you'll all know when that time is, carefully open the condom packet and roll it onto the banana. When the banana
is finished gently peel off the condom
and dispose of it properly. With every fresh banana, always use a fresh condom."
said an old lady while holding a banana, she was seemingly unperturbed by the laughing in the room.

After the day Ava found herself in the NICU. She was starting to build a reputation as the go to intern when it came to pregnancy or babies. She stared across at a particularly small preemie weighing only 6.4lbs and smiled. She wondered if this baby has any siblings. Despite being younger than Meredith they were always inseparable, she just didn't understand how siblings could fight even though she had heard the stories.

She finished off her day in outpatients checking stitches and treating staff infections.

After a quiet day she was shocked when she heard that while she was removing overdosed pimples Meredith and Christina were performing an illegal autopsy.
"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked her sister.
"It was fight my club, I couldn't tell you I'm sorry" she explained

"Meredith, l am so sorry." Said Derek turning towards her.
Ava watched from the door as a stunning tall red-head walked elegantly over towards the pair. She wore a tight black dress with a black fur coat. Her bright blue eyes stood out on her kind face. A picture of true beauty.
"Addison" Said Derek stiffly turning to look at her
"What are you doing here?" He questioned
"You'd know if you'd bothered to return any one of my phone calls." She replied sharply before turning to looks at Meredith
"Hi. l'm Addison Shepherd." She said holding her hand out to Meredith
"Shepherd?" She questioned confused
"And you must be the woman who's been screwing my husband." Addison finished. Meredith looked at Derek in shock.
