Hello there! This is my first ever fanfiction and I want it to be setted after One Piece is finished so I have more opportunities in world building, as everything is possible then. I hope you enjoy! Feel free to leave Feedback <3

Update 01.01.2022 - Just updated all the soundtracks I used as inspiration for the story!

I used to listen to this Remix constantly while writing! Hope it makes you visualize the story as much as it helped me <3

The heavy masses of water thundered to one side as the yellow submarine stretched its gleaming appearance towards the evening sun. It steamed and hissed from all sides to allow pressure equalization and the noise almost drowned out the important commands of your comrades. Since you were new on board, you mostly stayed near Penguin or Shachi to observe and memorize the processes. It wasn't your first time on a pirate ship - but it was the first time in a submarine.

You were still slightly dizzy from the rapid pressure equalization, but tried not to let it show. Ever since the Heart Pirates freed you from slavery in the Sabaody Archipelago, you've tried to show the greatest possible effort. No box was too heavy, no fine-tuning too tedious. Filled with gratitude that the universe had shown you a way out, you would do your part. It was not difficult for you to spend long periods in the darkness of the sea, for you had spent too many days in the darkness of lonely prison cells. But when the soft light of the evening red fell through the yellowed hatches, you couldn't help but pause and warm your face in amazement.

The captain passed your troop and you placed yourself in formation with the others. Trafalgar Law had barely exchanged words with you other than your recruitment for his crew, but he generally didn't seem like a man of many words, so you didn't take his behavior personally. However, you couldn't avoid throwing him a second look every now and then, because his appearance was extremely attractive. His cloud-gray eyes betrayed no emotion, but pierced the soul if you had the pleasure of being noticed by him. The plan for today was to moor in Torgau, a rallying point for pirates in the New World, similar to the Sabaody Archipelago at the end of the Grand Line. Law kept his plans only to himself and his nearest officers - but your curiosity made you snoop around. Fortunately, Penguin and Shacchi were easy to get talking to when met with slight charm.

It happened at dinner.

Jean-Barts smacking his lips next to you made you wince as you tried to start a conversation. He paused for a moment when you gave him a forced smile before you lifted your beer mug.
Law seemed engrossed in a conversation with Bepo, which looked more like Bepo was annoying him again with his hypochondriac tendencies. The fearful polar bear was a brave warrior, but extremely sensitive. You sensed your chance.
„Do you already have plans for how you want to spend the weekend in Torgau?" You asked casually and licked the sauce off your fingers. "I heard there is one of the hippest bars right by the harbor. They brew the best beer in the New World and flaunt mermaids as singers. "
"That's where we should go," said Jean-Bart and raised his beer to toast you. Glad for his reaction, you complied with his friendly gesture.
Penguin didn't look up from his plate as he continued to eat and replied with his mouth full, "I think we'll be busy."
"Is that so? Is there a party going on that we're not invited to? "You joked and Jean-Bart growled angrily. Somehow he seemed to be slowly acting as your backup and that raised him on your imaginary sympathy scale.
"But we don't even know whether the captain really needs us - mostly he does his things on his own anyway", Shachi objected.
You stuck out your lips and unobtrusively glanced over at the captain. Lost in thought, he was stuffing onigiri into himself.
"Is that so," you replied and took a long swig.
"Yes, we're just ballast anyway."
"Then why does he have a pirate crew?" You rubbed your chin thoughtfully.
Penguin shrugged. "We help him with operations and keep his submarine running. We're pretty good at fighting too. But actually I think the captain ... "
Jean-Bart silenced him because he spat his beer all over the table. Penguin and Shacci got completely soaked. The giant coughed several times and pounded on the chest. "Sorry, swallowed."
You clenched your fists under the table and quickly leaned forward - lasciviously put your head in your hands.
"So - what do you think the captain is?"
"Yes," it suddenly sounded behind you. A bass voice, deep and purring, that it pulled you through your neck. "What about the captain?"
