Prologue Pt 2

Diva's P.O.V.

A few days had passed since we first arrived onto Caledon. Not too many things have happened since then. Flip and I just spent some time crafting new items, like fishing poles and nets to catch some critters. We found some cool butterflies, and some grasshoppers, but as for fishing....we only came upon sea bass mostly. Disappointing, but oh well.

"You think we'll find anything good today?" Flip asked, throwing out his reel into the water, the little bob just floating upon the river's surface.

"I'm sure we'll find something good. Who knows, maybe we'll catch a crazy squid or trout, or even a shark!" I said excitedly. Flip chuckled. "Who knows? It should be something pretty crazy though." he said. He yelped as his pole suddenly jerked towards the water. He grunted and pulled onto the pole, trying to reel it up quickly.

"Oh wow! This is something huge, rerack!" he cried. "Reel it in! Reel it in!" I said, jumping up and down excitedly. He growled as he pulled harder, struggling to pull it in. The heels of his feet began to dig into the ground, making him step back so he wouldn't slip into the water. "I can't reel it in..." he said with a strained voice. 

"You almost got it! Come on, Flip!" I said. He gave one final determined cry before jerking the pole. Something emerged from the water and flew above us. I watched as the shadow overlapped the sun above us. The shadow came closer and closer to me, and I caught it in my hands....only to see I held a sea bass.

"...."

"....throw it back." Flip said. I nodded and tossed it back into the river.

"Oh well. The day isn't over yet." I stated. 

"Flip! Diva!" we both looked behind us, seeing Tommy coming over to us. "Hey guys, come to the docks. The island representative is here. You should come meet her." Tommy said. My eyes widened, and I looked away nervously. I was still kinda worried what this new representative would be like. I don't want to meet someone mean, like the old mayor....

"Don't worry, Diva," Flip said, placing a hand on my shoulder, "I'm sure she's nicer than you think. Besides, I'll be there with you." he stated. I looked to him and smiled. "Thanks Flip." I said. He nodded.

Together we walked over to the docks. I could see Tom Nook and Timmy talking with a pretty human girl. She had tan skin, long black hair, and brown eyes. She wore a cute black tank top and some galaxy designed leggings. As we came closer Tom Nook looked to us and waved. "There you two are! I want you to meet our island representative, Gabby." he said. Gabby looked to us and flashed a friendly smile.

"So you two are the first villagers to move here? I'm happy to meet you both." she said. I looked at her surprised. She has such a friendly aura, and a very positive vibe. I liked it.

"Hi, nice to meet ya. I'm Diva." I found myself saying, stepping up and holding out my hand. Gabby smiled and shook my hand. Flip came beside me and held out his hand. "And I'm Flip. Great to meet ya." he said. She shook his hand as well, her smile growing wider.

"I'm glad we could have such nice villagers here." she said. "I'm glad you could all get acquainted. Now, Gabby, do you have that list of jobs I need you to do?" Tom Nook asked. Gabby sighed, but nodded. "Yes, I do. I'll get to them as soon as I can, Tom Nook." she said. "Excellent. Feel free to let me know when you have completed them all. I'll give you your next tasks after your done. I'll talk to ya later." he said. With that said he walked away with his assistants, seeming a little peppy.

Flip looked to Gabby curiously. "Tasks? What does he mean?" he asked. "Well, as you know, Tom Nook is trying to make Caledon an actual community. With more villagers, more buildings, and other things. But lots of these things need to be put together. And he wants me to do most of the work...." Gabby explained, letting out a sigh.
