Your wings were practically trembling in fear, the chances of being caught wasn't zero and every second you remain those chances rise.
You had decided to move quickly, the faster that you get the gems then the faster you can return back to Elizabeth and the others. You expanded and stretched your wings out fully before they began to flap.
Your whole body ended up exiting the safety of the ground as your large eyes-which now had slit pupils-scanned the dystopia of a land which used to bloom with life. Intaking a deep breath, and deciding to suck it up, you did promise to return and to fight for your land one day, but...Now was just not the time, you simply weren't ready.
Beginning to cover land in great speeds it didn't take you long to find the burrow; the very burrow that contains both you and your family's most precious possessions.
They won't notice if a small few went missing, right? I'll only nip one or two...Besides...They're probably worth a lot more to humans..!!
Your body angled downwards before quickly 'swooshing' into the underground tunnel, it was only one or two turns before you found the buried gems, your claws were ready and sharpened to dig them up before you stored them in your mouth.
Your moral compass was practically screaming, you're basically stealing your precious family gems! Ah, but, it's not like they'll notice...But that doesn't make you any less of a thief! your brain rambled back and forwards and you didn't even realise that you had flown back into the surface.
It wasn't like there were any nearby dragons, so you simply focused your mind and made a portal there and here. You did one last look around before jumping into it, not noticing the pair of eyes that was watching you...

You landed roughly on the ground, shaking some nearby buildings and causing a bit more rubble. "Y/n! You're back!" Elizabeth's soft voice called out, you hadn't been gone for a while, but it felt like an eternity without Elizabeth.
You quickly nodded her statement off before opening your mouth and letting the piles of gems fall out. The townspeople were silent, before they all erupted in cheerful shouting, "We're gonna be the richest town in this whole country!"
"I think we may even be richer than the King himself!"
"I always thought this kind of gem was only a myth!"
You body began to glow, that same sparkling white shone for a few seconds and when it disappeared you were once again a human. "I apologise for my actions...Please accept my gift as a peace offering! I don't wish to cause a war with you humans..." You looked down at the ground shamefully, but then felt a warm hand on your shoulder.
Your eyes saw an old woman with a very gleeful smile, "Oh,, dear...Please don't apologise...You've only just prevented our town to reach the poverty line for generations.....! We...."
A townsperson interrupted her, "We need to like—Hold a feast for you...!" You held your hand up, denying them in (hopefully) a polite way. "Sorry! But we're in a rush at the moment...!" The villagers shared disappointed looks but they all agreed to let you go never the less.

"I can't believe that you were able to pay them all off like that..." You heard Elizabeth mutter, shrugging in response, "Like they said,, I've set them off for generations so I'm sure that if anything-I've done a good deed..."
