It was 4:36 AM, to be specific. You were still in the cramped dungeon with your eyes dazed and half open, the pain being the only thing keeping you awake and unable to rest for a minute. The only thing you could see was the other wall that was lit up through the small peek-hole in the metal door.

Elizabeth, on the other hand, had spent the entire day planning this moment, even enlisting the help of one of her sisters. And now the moment has come where they must strike! "Are you sure that this'll work..?" Elizabeth asked Veronica as she put on socks to muffle the sound of their feet patting on the floor.

"I'm positive! Look, if everything you said was true, then we might even be able to have a pet dragon!" She encouraged, earning her sister a small smile."Right. Okay. Let's do this!" Elizabeth raised her fist in a whisper before Veronica rushed to grab the piece of paper on her dresser and place it in front of them on the ground.

"All right, I basically walked around the entire castle and made a map," she said, pointing to different parts of the paper, "and there were already guards in the daytime here, here, here, and here. There are obviously others, but they aren't in our way. Since it's nighttime, they would probably be the same amount, but they are all most likely split up on their own instead of in pairs, so we would need to probably be more cautious in areas here, here, and here. I also took the liberty of sneaking into our father's office and copied-" she said, reaching under her bed and pulling out another small piece of paper.

"What's that?" Elizabeth asked the violet haired girl, "Feast your eyes upon the nightly guard routines!" She stated proudly, Elizabeth was taken aback and quite speechless, "Wh...How..?!" She questioned,
"It was simple; after you told me about the situation, I simply asked one of the guards where father was, and since he wasn't in his office, I simply walked in and quickly wrote it down. And from then on, I just hid it in my palm and replaced the original one." She explained smoothly.

Elizabeth gasped before quickly wrapping her sister in a tight hug. "I wouldn't of been able to do this if it weren't for you..." she muttered, Veronica patted her back, "It's alright, I couldn't let you dive head first into this all alone." She replied with a half smile.

Veronica took a deep breath before speaking again, "Alright. Let's go."

The girls both stood up and lightly stepped towards the door before Veronica placed her hand on the knob and slowly opened it, only creating a small, quiet creak that went unnoticed.

They looked to their right and saw a guard walking away; from what they remembered from the routine sheet, the man was following the pattern of a square. They stared at each other for a moment and decided to keep walking straight ahead; they then made a right turn, then a left, then another left, and finally they were met with the grand staircase.

The children carefully yet quickly made their way to the bottom of the stairs, and from then on, they just had to get behind the castle. After an easy sneaking they made it through the hall and drawing room and into the entrance of the dungeon, well, almost.

There was only one minor issue: a guard stood directly in front of the doorway, preventing Elizabeth and Veronica from entering. "Well...?" Elizabeth asked her sister; they both stayed silent and crouched behind a bush.

The silverette considered her options before grabbing a rock; it was a cliche she'd seen in many plays, but it might work, she reasoned before launching the rock far enough to hit the brick wall surrounding the castle.

Fortunately, the sound jolted the guard out of his trance, and he darted his head towards the sound before hesitantly walking towards it to investigate further. "C'mon! Now's our chance!" Elizabeth whisper-shouted while she got up and ran towards the door, with Veronica not far behind.
