Chapter 21

The weeks pass slowly. Not just for me, but for everyone in the castle. It's getting darker... quieter. Weird things happen, for example the curse on Katie Bell, Ron who got poisoned. It's freaking me out, all of us. Although there's not just bad things happening. I might be the teacher with the most tea in this school, because I have Luna. She told me about Harry and Ginny for example, I knew it all along of course, but it's still sort of exciting.
But being a teacher wasn't as hard as I thought, well it is, but in different ways. I thought it was hard to keep peace between the students and me, but that actually went very well. The hard parts are creating  the assignments and checking them or come up with new lessons. But it's going really wel, so I don't think I have to worry about that.

I pick myself up from the bench to go back to my room. I should've taken my jacket with me, because I didn't think it would get cold this fast.
I walked through the corridors on the 7th floor, but then suddenly I freeze. It sounds like a student walking, but they should be in their houses by now.

"Y/N? What are you doing here, you have to get out now!" Draco says as I bump into him.

"What do you mean, I'm a teacher."

"I know, but you have to go, now! Trust me on this, please" he says stressed.

"No, you tell me what the bloody hell is going on!"

"Well hello there, this is a nice surprise" I hear a familiar voice say.

I turn around and see Bellatrix and some other death eaters, wondering how the hell they got here.

I turn to Draco, who stares at me blankly. "What the hell did you do?" I almost scream.

"Nothing, just doing what I've been told!" He says very loud.

"What do you mean? Did you..." I slap him right across the face.

"Ouch!"

"You know better Draco!"

"Speechless are you?" Bellatrix continues.

"You wish" I say as I feel my blood boiling under my skin.

"What was that dear?" She says as she comes closer to study me. "Draco has told us all about you, you know."

I turn my head to see where Draco is, but he's gone. "What do you want" I say annoyed as I turn my head back, what makes me stare right into her eyes.

"You're not wearing the neckless?" She says disappointed.

"I threw it away, why do you care?"

"So your not curious about your biological mother?"

"Nope, I know what I need to know and already have a great family. I don't need you."

"Oof burn" the familiar creepy big hairy man behind her says.

Bellatrix turns around and throws a curse at him and they suddenly start fighting each other, so I ran for it. I run towards the staircases downstairs in the hope I'd run into another teacher. But instead I run into a group of students playing games together and laughing.

"What are you guys doing here? You should be in your common rooms." I say panting. They look at me as if I ruined all the fun. "Go now!" I say and wave them away.

"Okay, okay, I thought you were the fun teacher" one of the kids said. It kinda hurt me, but I guess they will find out sooner or later why I was so tough on them.

"Y/N!" Mcgonagall says as she walks past the group of students returning to their house. "Come with me quick, it's Hagrid." She says with a concerned look on her face. I walk towards her and we walk fast as she guides me towards the Forbidden Forest. There is a huge fire and I later realise it's Hagrid's house on fire.

"No" I say softly. "Mcgonagall, it's them!"

"Who?" She asks confused.

"They're here, the death eaters, four of them!" I cry out.

"Oh Y/N" she looks at me concerned, but as if she's trying to comfort me.

We look forward again and hear strange noises and see flashlights. Then the mark shows up in the sky.

"Oh no" McGonagall says and runs towards the body on the ground near the astronomy tower. And before we know it, the grounds were full with students and teachers, everyone was there. Then Harry came forward and bowed over Dumbledore's body and started sobbing. Tears filling our eyes. Mcgonagall raised her wand and a small lightbulb showed up at the tip of her wand as she held it up. Soon the ground was lighted with the small lightbulbs and the dark mark in the air disappeared.

That night McGonagall asked me to escort the Gryffindor's to the common room and to stay there until she comes for us.

Summer break started earlier then it usually does. The students were send home and I went home together with the Weasley's, while some other teachers stayed at school, cause that's their home for as far as I know.
