Mommy walked into the door of the house, letting out a small sigh as she slipped off her heel boots, letting her eyes dim back to their natural state. Mommy had just gotten back from dropping Girlfriend at Boyfriends'. She was exhausted, having done some recording earlier today. Unlike her husband, her singing career wasn't over. And often losing to Boyfriend, she had to do some minor reclaiming of her greatness. Daddy, having heard his wife come in, peeked out of the kitchen, wearing an apron.

"Welcome home, honey," Daddy said with a smile. Waving with the hand that was holding the spoon. Mommy smiled a little, walking to her husband and kissing his cheek. "I was thinking of a home date night, if you're up to it?" Daddy asked, walking in front of his wife and back to the kitchen where he was cooking up some alfredo.

"That sounds lovely, darling. Let me go change, okay?" Mommy said, her smiling growing a little as she saw her husband cooking. She walked back to the bedroom she shared with her husband, walking into their walk-in closet. She grabbed a pair of sweatpants, and loose shirt, changing out of her normal attire and tossing it into the laundry hamper. She slipped on her more lazy clothes and walked to the dresser/mirror combo her and her husband shared. She pulled out her hoops, sitting them on their respective stand. She pulled off her bracelets and necklace, sitting them next to the earrings. She grabbed a hair brush and a hair tie, gently brushing her hair back and tying it back into a ponytail. Once she was satisfied, she walked out of the bedroom. She walked down the hall and to the kitchen.

"There she is," Daddy said, smiling. "You look lovely, honey," Daddy said in a soft voice. Mommy giggled a small bit, moving to gently wrap her arms around Daddy's waist from behind him. She rested her head on his back. "How did recording go?" Daddy asked, whisking together the alfredo sauce.

"Amazing. Hard on my vocal chords, as always, but I think it'll be really good from Boyfriend's damage," Mommy said in a soft voice against his back. Daddy knew she was being quiet to avoid overworking her vocal chords more than they already had been. Daddy nodded all the same, gently removing his wife's hands from his waist so he could finish up dinner.

"Wanna set up the table so we can eat dinner?" Daddy asked, starting to combine the noodle and the sauce together. Mommy let out a hum of agreement, grabbing two plates and two sets of silverware, bringing it to the dinner table. She sat them next to each other since no one was around to say anything about it. They didn't have anyone to impress, to intimidate. She walked over to a little dresser they had in the kitchen, pulling the candle off of it. She grabbed the lighter as well and carried the candles over. She sat the candles down, lighting them. She walked to the light switch, dimming down the lights a bit. She looked over the set up and smiled, satisfied.

Daddy walked into the kitchen, carrying the pan that was holding the dinner. He sat it down in front of the plates, letting out a small laugh when he saw the plates. Mommy just smiled, taking a seat. Daddy sat next to her, letting her get her food first. Once Mommy got a serving, Daddy got his own. They ate in a small silence but soon enough, small mindless chatter between the two started. They talked about the past, remembering things with their daughter, with each other, with their childhood. The two had been married for years so they knew just about everything about each other but remembering things could be just as amazing as learning it for the first time. They laughed and ate the dinner Daddy had prepared.

Once they finished dinner, Mommy walked to their small wine cabinet, grabbing one the two enjoyed. She grabbed two glasses and walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. Daddy carried the dishes to the sink, letting them soak so they could be done later. He walked to the living room, seeing a glass of wine for him sitting on the living table, Mommy holding the other

"Since when are we wine drinkers?" Daddy asks, grabbing the glass. He looks at the TV seeing Netflix pulled up.

"Since never. I just thought we should get a little fancy tonight, relax with a nice romcom, glass of wine, and some cuddling," Mommy said, leaning into Daddy's arm. Daddy smiled, shaking his head slightly.

"Alright, alright," Daddy said while he lifted his arms, pulling Mommy into him a bit more. Mommy looked through the romcoms, finding 'The Wedding Planner' and picking it. Daddy groaned next to Mommy and she let out a giggle.

"Problem, darling?" Mommy asked with a smug look on her face. She knows he hates this specific romcom but she adores it.

"Only this one time. Only this one time," Daddy said before sighing, downing his glass of wine and leaning to pour himself another cup.

The two settled down, slowly sipping their wine and Mommy enjoying the movie and Daddy just enjoying the quiet, alone time with his wife. He often would just play with her hair instead of paying attention to the movie. At one point, something funny happened and instead of hearing his wife's lovely laugh, he heard silence. Confused, he looked down and saw that his wife had fallen asleep. His heart melted a bit at the sight and he smiled.

They always kept blankets hanging over the back of the couch just in case a guest slept over, or someone was cold or for moments like this where it's just easier to sleep on the couch. Daddy reached and grabbed one of the blankets, gently shifting the two so they were laying on the couch. At one point Mommy moved a little, snuggling deeper into Daddy. He smiled at the sight, hugging his wife close. Daddy turned off the TV with the remote and used his phone to turn down the lights, which had hooked up in case he was too lazy to get up. He let out a sigh of content, listening to the light snores of his wife as he drifted off to sleep himself.

Bonus!

Girlfriend walked into her home, happy she got to spend some quality time with Boyfriend. She let out a small sigh as she walked into the house, calling out that she was home to her parents. She got no response, weird. They usually at least reponsed. She walked into the living room, finding her parents asleep on the couch, snuggling with each other. Girlfriend smiled at the sight. She loved seeing her parents in love and wished she and Boyfriend could have moments like this in the future.

//Sometimes I'll put a bonus scene if I think something cute or funny might happen in the aftermath of the fic. This time, Girlfriend seeing her parents cuddling, how sweet :).
