[F] Senpai X Female!Reader

//Welcome back! This fic was requested by @LeggsThompson! Fair warning, my portrayal of Senpai is a lot of sweet flirting, less than dumb and sweet. Of course, more knowledge will be shared once his headcanons page comes out!

Plot: Senpai and you were sleeping before Senpai had another nightmare. You, having woken up from Senpai's crying, comfort him and calm him down.

Senpai's P.O.V

I was running. Running from what? I didn't know. I just knew I was running. I knew this area, it was my school. Behind my school and into the woods behind it but everything was dark, seeming to have a blue tint. I was running into the woods, my heart pounding hard against my chest. My school uniform had long forgotten its tie, leaving my coat to flow into wind as I ran.

"Senpaiii..." A voice whispered in the dark. I let out a yelp, daring to look behind me and seeing something that almost made me stop in my tracks. It was a floating piece of distorted... gas? Flesh? I couldn't tell but it was a blaring red against all the blue. It's face was too realistic, the pain on the expression almost causing me pain. I let out a scream, turning back in front of me and running deep into the forest.

The forest was unforgiving, scratching me and hitting me any chance it got but I wasn't planning on slowing down. My legs ached, my lungs screamed, my headache punched against my skull. I wasn't going to be able to keep up with this much. I looked around, trying to find somewhere I could maybe hide. I had to hide, it was my only option. I saw a tree with an opening just wide enough for me to get into. I almost cried happiness and started to b-line for it. I kept my eyes on my prize and slowed down enough to get into the hole. Once I was in, I tried to calm my panting.

Thankfully, I often had to hide my tiredness after running so I was pretty good at it. But that didn't matter, what mattered was not moving, not making a sound, and waiting for this hell to be over. I sat silent, my heart pounding. I was worried my heart was loud enough to give away my location.

I saw the weird gas-flesh thing pass by, seeing only be able to look which direction it was moving. I held my breath as he passed, scared even one wrong breath would give away my location. The thing obviously wasn't human, or at least not anymore so I had no idea if he had better hearing or something supernatural like that.

Once the flesh cloud passed, I let out my breath slowly and silently. I wasn't stupid, I wasn't gonna let out a breath loudly. I leaned back as slowly as possible, trying to get my pounding heart to calm down. I had my head leaned back, eyes closed up until I heard a voice.

"Found youu.."

I shot up in the bed, panting. Tears lined my eyes as the nightmare ran through my head on loop. What the fuck was that. I didn't notice I was crying until a tear hit my hand. I looked down, my vision blurry and quickly wiped my eyes. The tears didn't stop it and before I knew it, I was silently crying. I wouldn't dare wake (Y/N). She needed her rest.

I curled myself into a ball, knees resting against my chin. I stared into the darkness, swearing I could see the darkness move. I curled my eyes shut, taking a shaky breath. I felt the bed move and shot my eyes open, looking over to (Y/N). She was waking up.

"Mm.. Senpai..? Are you awake?" (Y/N) sleepily asked, her (E/C) eyes seeming to shine in the darkness.

"Just woke up for a glass of w-water, darling. Go back to s-sleep," I tried to say as calm as possible but my own voice was betraying me.

"Senpai? Are you okay?" She sounded more awake now, sitting up with a yawn. I saw her eyes move past me, probably to the clock I had yet to check.

"Baby, it's 2 am... What's wrong?" (Y/N) asked, reaching a hand over to my cheek, gently holding it. "Were you crying, Senpai?" I could hear her voice soften. I leaned into her hand a little.

"It was just some stupid nightmare, is all. I'll be alright, I promise," I said in a soft voice. Just the contact was making me feel better. I sniffled, going to wipe my tears but (Y/N) had beat me to it, gently wiping my tears away. I smiled a bit at her, looking into her eyes. "Thank you," I said softly, leaning into her hand more.

"Are you okay to go back to sleep?" (Y/N) asked and I nodded. I got out of my ball form, gently lay back down, (Y/N) joining me. "Do you wanna cuddle?" (Y/N) asked me and I chuckled, nodding.

"If you wouldn't mind?" I asked, opening my arms for her to come into. She giggled, shaking her head to say 'I don't mind' and scooted into my arms. I gently wrapped my arms around her, her arms around my waist. Our legs tangled together, her head on my chest. I used one of my hands to gently stroke her hair, taking a few calming breaths before just basking in the moment. Before I knew it, I was back asleep.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

I sighed contently in Senpai's arms, snuggling a bit closer to him when I felt his hand stop moving against my hair. I looked up to find him smiling, his breathing slow and steady. I felt my heart melt at the sight and closed my eyes, letting myself fall asleep in his arms.
