Once Mira is in the confines of her room with Finnick, the tears start to pour out of her eyes. She was almost glad the makeup Nixie used on her was always waterproof, or her face would've been a complete mess. Finnick pulls her into his chest as she cries her heart out.

"I'm going to ruin your shirt." She mutters on his chest.

"Lucky for you Capitol makeup is transfer-proof," Finnick says, pulling her away from him to look into her blue eyes. "Hey, go get your things."

Mira steps away from Finnick to find the things that she could bring back home.

Home.

She was finally going home.

At that thought, Mira let out a huge breath as she looked for the token she had brought to the games. Clutching it in her hands, she stared at the mermaid figurine of her mother's face on the vanity table and contemplated.

"Take that. They wouldn't even notice it missing." Finnick voices out her thoughts, and hesitantly, she walks towards the figurine and takes it off the table, clutching it towards her chest.

"I'm ready."

They rode a car with blackened windows to the train station. They rode the train, and Mira thought she could finally breathe for the first time after they had plunged into darkness from the tunnel. Mira, Lassie, the other mentors, and Finnick sat for dinner, a replay of the interview playing on the television.

After dinner, they all go to their respective compartments. Mira got herself comfortable in the bed, but she secretly wished Finnick could be there with her to make her sleep faster. Then her thoughts went back to Destan and how he protected her in every possible way. The memory of her friend brought tears to her eyes. She has always been a crybaby, but lately, her crying was almost as automatic as the heater back in the Capitol. With Destan in her thoughts, she cried herself to sleep.

That night, she dreamed that she was back in the Capitol, facing the cliff. Her vision adjusted to the bright light and saw the back of an all too familiar person. The person looks back at her just a bit, and he catches a glimpse of Destan's smiling face before he lets himself fall off the cliff. Mira ran to try and stop him, but it was as if she was stuck in the same old position. Then she hears a scoff at her side and she shakily turns to see Stone with a spear on her chest laughing ahead of her.

"You were the one that's supposed to die." She says before attacking her, placing her bloody hands around Mira's neck.

Mira wakes up screaming, as she struggles to breathe, feeling as if Stone's bloody hands were still on her throat. The door to her room opens, and a panicked Finnick stands there with nothing but his trousers. Mira is visibly shaking, wanting nothing in the world but to have Finnick in her arms as she cries on the bed at the sight of him worried by the girl who woke him up from all the screaming.

Finnick automatically goes to her and gathers her in his arms. Comforting her by rubbing circles on her back as she cried onto his chest.

"It was my fault. I'm the one to blame for everything." She cries and Finnick only lets her sob, continuing the soothing circles to let the girl in his arms calm down.

"Go to sleep baby, I'm here." That was the last thing Mira heard before she let herself sleep in his arms once again.

The next morning, they arrive back at District 4. And Mira almost cried at the sight of her home. She didn't think she would come back, but there she was now, looking out the window of the train as it stopped in front of people who wanted to see the new Victor.

The victory party lasted about a month, and during that time Mira and her family moved to their new home at the Victor's Village. She took Seanna and Tom out of the orphanage and made them live with them at their new home, next to Finnick's home. She felt like a celebrity, getting even more attention than she had ever before. Her life was as normal as it was before, people only stared at her because of the way she looked. Now, she got as much special treatment as Finnick Odair. The man she grew to love as the days went by. She didn't sleep in her own house, she lived in Finnick and his grandfather's house instead. She slept in his arms for almost a month now ever since she figured out that he was the only one that kept her nightmares away.
