he stood there watching the cars drive by on the highway. it was night with the rain cascading down on the already drenched body.

his vision was blurry from tears while his breath was ragged. slowly his feet dragged against the road. a car behind him nearly hitting him causing his body to jerk forward and fall on his knees.

a semi truck horn blared when the boy turned his head. the only thing he saw was two bright headlights before he blacked out.

this is what he wanted.

i woke up not knowing exactly where i was. i only seen white and my body felt extremely numb. faint beeping was heard right next to me.

maybe i'm laying down. my so called eyes darted around to see any other detail than white. i decided to lift my head. an immediate surge of pain shot through my entire body.

i laid my head back down as the beeping next to me accelerated and my breathing started to quicken. my lips moved in order to speak but there was barely any noise. only a raspy, "where am i?"

some footsteps started to rush towards me. i panicked and tried to grab anything i could. i felt a metal bar next to me, but it was stuck on something i was laying on. a bed?

wait a minute. i'm in a hospital aren't i?

that beeping is the heart moniter, and what i'm laying on is a hospital bed. a red blur with a barely visible nurse cap leaned over me.

"thomas miller, i need you to calm down. remember deep breathes" she said softly. i focused on what she told me.

that name. "is that my name?" once again my raspy voice asked.

her green blurry eyes stared at me confused. "do you not remember?"

"it's foggy to remember" i tried to sit up once more before laying back down in complete pain. my vision started to come back but caused a real bad headache.

her cold hand pushed my shoulder back in order to keep me down. "i wouldn't get up if i were you. from what we seen in your x-rays you have four broken ribs on your left and two fractured on your right. your spine seems to be a bit crooked from the impact but you should be fine in a year or two" she looked at a clipboard paper.

"i can't stay here for one or two years!" i whinced as i remembered my dry throat and broken body prevented me from doing anything.

she frowned. "you have three powers and they need time to help you recover. so in order for you to heal properly and become strong enough to walk by yourself and use your powers correctly, we will let you go" she walked out of my line of sight. my hand slowly let go of the metal bar on the side of my bed.

i let out an icy breath seeing as snowflakes fell back onto my face and melted off. so much for hydration.

how did i get here in the first place?

think tom think.
