sleeping in had to be the most relaxing and amazing experiences tom would ever have the blessing to live in. there would be no worries, just soft pillows with warmth plus comfortable bedsheets and soothing cool air.
he hadn't had time to relax after settling in and having to get used to the new rules of this hospital. so far he's learned enough to know how things work around here.
tom shifted in the bed to flip his pillow over to feel the cooler side. his voids for eyes had half lidded while looking up to the window that had been left open. since it was so hot outside and cold inside, he thought the mixture would feel nice and oh he was so right.
although through the many days of laying in his room just sleeping and thinking, his mind wandered to his roommate. it's been a while since he last saw tord all week.
the entire week of settling in he's only gotten to see him once and it felt kind of awkward to tom. he hated the awkward.
suddenly from silence came noises behind toms bedroom door. at first it sounded like arguing but once he focused more on what they were saying it sounded like just a loud conversation.
then again it went back to arguing. tom lazily got up from his oh so comfortable bed and walked up to his door. he didn't bother to get his crutches as he didn't really feel any pain from within the cast, it just felt silly walking with crutches.
anyhow tom leaned on the door hearing very loud heavy footsteps. instinctively he pressed his ear against the door to hear the drama.
"why don't you talk anymore?! all you ever did was talk shit and blabber off your mouth!" yelled someone else in the room. tom hadn't recognized that voice at all but they sounded angry. more than angry, absolutely pissed.
there was clattering objects and more incoherent curses along with it. "you think you're better than me now don't you!" the person shouted. if he were any louder, the neighbors would hear the argument perfectly. neighbors being other mentally ill patients.
tom started to have a self debate if he should walk out to calm it down or let tord handle it on his own. these kinds of decisions were always so god damn hard to decide. after one final loud thud the arguing had died down.
"fine.. but if you know what's good for the rest of us you better decide, and quickly. i'll be coming back" they remarked before slamming, what tom presumed was, the front door shut.
it fell incredibly quiet to the point that tom had thought his roommate had just died. finally tom had decided to walk out of his room to see what had happened.
tord was sitting on the kitchen counter with his knees up to his chest and his left hand tugging softly at his own hair. his head was down which made it impossible to ses his facial expressions.
examining tord a little longer he seen that the cast he used to have on one of his arms was now off and it looked completely healed, demons also heal faster than others, good to know.
there was no sound coming from him and there had been no noise of sniffling. only soft breathing with non-intelligible mumbles emitting from his mouth.
mind you tom had incredibly useful ears which could hear from very far. slowly walking up to tord he tapped his leg to get his attention. tord had jumped and lifted his head quickly. his pupils were thin slits that made him look terrified of everything around him.
tom took a cautious step back to make sure he didn't overstep any boundaries. he lifted his hands to make it seem obvious he didn't want to do anything messed up. the smaller male let out a long sigh and relaxed while looking around.
