in the middle of the night the moon glowed into the room of where i was sitting. it's been two months since the accident and i still haven't been out of this bed.

today at exactly 8 in the morning i will be using crutches to wander around the building to get used to it. i could finally bathe on my own without having someone awkwardly scrub my back.

my neck brace was also going off on the same day. my ribs have fully recovered all except for my leg. it has been a few weeks since i had walked which meant the crutches were to help my leg muscle get better.

currently it was 4 in the morning and the moon was beginning to lose it's glow. i didn't feel tired at all, for once i feel energetic.

noises from outside the right door startled me as no one would be awake at this time. faint voices of arguing and yelling made me think twice about how i was the only one with issues.

"he's done it again, next time we will have to use the cuffs to hold him again"

cuffs?

why would they need to put cuffs on a patient, let alone a harmed patient.

a loud slam was heard before bright lights beamed into the room. a group of footsteps started to get louder from the right side of me.

i didn't bother to pretend i was asleep, afterall the doors were loud enough to wake anyone. grunts and small shrieks were heard as someone was pushed onto the hospital bed next to me.

the light blue curtain had blocked my line of sight from where i assumed the doctors were.

six different clicks were heard until the struggling person had stopped moving. the doctors sighed of what sounded like relief.

"treat his injured arm before he bleeds himself to death" a man sneered before walking away from the scene. he swiftly walked past me with an angry expression. he didn't look like a doctor. i wonder who he is.

numerous voices started whispering to eachother while the person on the bed pulled against the restraints.

this is too much noise so early in the morning.

☹︎

"alright thomas, how do they feel?"

"uhm, small?" i said as more of a question. a little hunched over i stood with the small crutches.

"ah right right, i forgot you are a little taller than part of the elf community" havana giggled before taking my crutches and looking for a bigger pair.

i sat down carefully as to not injure my left leg. "why do i need crutches? i mean my body is fine"

"not all of it, you can never be sure" she gestured towards my left leg. i rolled my nonexistent pupils and stood on my right leg as soon as she brought me better ones. "how about now?"

"better" i sighed as i tried to use the crutches to helped me walk. "i feel like a penguin, can i just have like a cane or something?" havana grabbed a clipboard from the nightstand.

she scoffed "well you don't want to look like an old man either do you?" she started walking away towards two doors.

i grumbled. "old man is still better than a penguin"

side by side down the halls she guided me to a room i would be staying that included someone else i would have to share a room with. on our way i couldn't help but be nosy of my surroundings. Around me i saw people big and small.
