Alex and Keagan

Chapter 8

I woke up the next morning with a strong arm around my waist, and everything that happened in the last 24 hours came back to me.

My life is so confusing right now. Why me?

I felt movement behind me so I turned around and I was staring into Alex's eyes.

"Good morning" he mumbled.

God he is so sexy in the morning!

"I'm sorry about last night, I don't usually have nightmares" I told him. Last night I remember waking up screaming and Alex came barging in a couple minutes later with a baseball bat.

My knight and shinning armor!

"Anything for you Keagan" he said brushing my lose hair behind my ear.

I sighed. "what am I going to do" I whispered more to myself and not to Alex.

"I'll help you" Alex said sitting up and wrapping me into a hug. "I'll help you through everything"

Seriously, can he get any better. I really want all if this to be true. I really want to be with him, but I have to keep my guard up. I don't want to get hurt, and I know I will, because I really like him. I always have.

I broke out of his hold and he looked disappointed but I was to busy thinking to care.

"I'm going to go home and kill Henry" I said causally. "You'll bail me out of jail right?" I asked Alex.

He laughed, but then his expression turned serious when I wasn't laughing with him. "You're kidding, right?" He asked.

Ha! He thought I was kidding! "No I'm serious Alex. I'm pissed, he crossed the line" I told him.

He grabbed my hand and rubbed circles. "Keagan you can't kill him. I'm mad too but he is my best friend and he is your brother" he kept going on but I wasn't listening I was thinking of ways to kill Henry.

"Sorry did you say something" I asked.

He sighed. "Listen Keagan, why don't you just stay a little while longer. It's not a bother at all. I'll be able to help you, and you promised to tell me about your nightmare. I just want to help" he said.

"I also am your tutor now" he said. "We could study?"

I laughed. "One thing at a time buddy"

He laughed too. "Fine, what do you want to do first?"

"Breakfast"

Alex and I are sitting in the kitchen eating some breakfast that he made. I have to say that he is an okay cook.

He made some pancakes, eggs, and bacon, and it was really good.

I shoved some more pancakes into my mouth and moaned. I usually have cereal in the morning.

"Is it that good?" Alex asked with a smirk on his face.

I nodded shoving some eggs into my mouth next. He laughed at that.

We sat in silence for a couple minutes just eating, when Alex stopped eating and looked at me.

"Do you wanna talk about last night?" He asked. "It's not everyday someone screams bloody murder in their sleep"

I sighed, I knew I was going to have to explain it to him, but it was so peaceful before and now I have to break it.

"It was about my life, I guess" I told him unsure of how to start off. "It's just with my mom leaving, and Henry being the asshole he is, and dad never being around. I think it's finally getting to me, all of the pent up stress in my life right now got to me and I just had to let it out. That's probably why I screamed" I confessed. It wasn't a horrid nightmare with blood and masked figures, but it was everything bad about my life put together.

He grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze. "It's going to be okay"

"I hope so" I mumbled.

Alex's phone started ringing, and he looked down at the caller id and frowned, but still answered it. It was probably one of his 'squad' friends. The fab five!

He put it on speaker phone "hello" Alex said.

"Hey man, what's up?" A deep voice asked and I knew right away it was Henry.

Alex looked up at me and saw the anger in my eyes. "I'm kinda busy. Did you want something?" Alex asked in an annoyed voice.

"Yeah dude, you have been ditching us the past 2 days. What's up with you?" Henry asked.

"Nothing" Alex said casually.

"Bullshit" Henry said now angry. "What's going on just tell me!"

"You're an asshole that's what! I don't want to be around you right now, because if I was I'd beat the shit out of you. I can't believe you did that to your sister." Alex yelled into the phone. I am shocked that he would say that to his friend, and stick up for me like that.

"I have a sister too, we might not get along but I would never fucking do that to her. Have you heard the things the perverted guys at school are saying about her! The things they are going to do to her to get her to fall in love, just for the money!"

I didn't know people were doing that kind of stuff.

"Your sister isn't a whore, she isn't a slut. She doesn't deserve this" Alex said finishing his rant.

There was silence on the other end and then there was a sigh "I know man." He said quietly. "I screwed up"

"Damn right you did" Alex growled.

"When she gets home I'm going to make it right, I'm going to apologize and believe me those dipshits aren't going to touch her" Henry said.

"Why?" Alex asked. "Why did you do it?"

"I can't say" Henry said.

"Just tell me" Alex said.

There was another silence "It was Garrett's idea." Henry finally said.

"Wait? Garrett?" Alex asked confused.

"Yeah. Garrett was upset that Keagan turned him down. He suggested the idea to me to get her back. I thought it was funny at first so I agreed. I didn't know it would end up like this" Henry said. I could tell he was upset, which made me upset too.

I'm still pissed at Henry, but now I'm even more angry that it was Garrett who did this. I told him I wasn't interested. Can't he take a hint?

Alex and Henry were still talking on the phone I slipped out of the room grabbed my stuff and headed home. I need to hear Henry's side of the story. I need some details so I can go kick Garrett's ass instead.
