It's the Saturday before we head back on Sunday. Remus dragged me out of bed quite early. He brought me to the backyard of the Potter's house. He had a blanket set out with muggle treats and drinks. "Rem." I whispered. "Since last time we did this Sirius interrupted." Remus laughed. I nudged him with my hip before sitting down.
"How's that going?" I asked, wiggling my eyebrows. He snorted and pushed my head. "It's good, a bit different but good different." Remus smiled. "Is Mr. Black treating you well?" I asked as we leaned into each other, pulling out our books. "He is. What about James?" Remus questioned as I pulled out my glasses.
"We've talked through our fights a bit. I'm more comfortable being with him, now than a week ago." I smiled. I began reading the muggle book Remus gifted me for Christmas, while Remus read his new book. Once the sun started to rise we watched it together under the blanket.
"Well, well, well. Look what we have here, Prongs." Sirius taunted from behind me and Remus. Remus and I turned around seeing the two of the standing in their sweaters with their arms crossed. "Looks to me, Padfoot that they are cheating on us." James teased, I rolled my eyes. I held onto Remus' arm and cuddled back into him.
"We were enjoying the sunrise and reading, which you two don't do so excuse yourselves." I announced before pulling my book back into my lap. James and Sirius gasped when me and Remus cuddled into each other more. James picked me up, "HEY!" I shouted as he stood me up. "Cuddle with me." James whined, I rolled my eyes playfully.
Sirius cuddled into Remus' chest and fell asleep while Remus read. "Traitor." I whispered, Remus winked and turned back to his book. "I didn't know you needed glasses." James spoke softly, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. "Only for reading." I muttered and placed them on top of my head. "Are you done? Because I would like to read." I smirked, he kissed my forehead and brought me inside.
He plopped himself on the long couch in the family room. Placing one leg on the couch and then other on the floor he patted the space in between his legs. I took off my shoes and sat in between his legs. I leaned back against his chest and placed both of my legs up on the couch. I put my glasses back on and opened my book. James played with my hair lightly, feathering light kisses on my head, neck and shoulders.
"Read to me?" He whispered before placing a kiss below my ear. "You want me to read to you?" I questioned turning slightly, James nodded. "What is it?" He questioned, kissing my neck. "The Princess Bride by William Goldman." I muttered. "Read to me, love." He whispered. "Okay." I mumbled.
"Domingo slept only when he dropped from exhaustion. He ate only when Inigo would force him to. He studied, fretted, complained. He never should have taken the job; it was impossible. The next day he would be flying: he never should have taken the job; it was too simple to be worth his labors. Joy to despair, joy to despair, day to day, hour to hour. Sometimes Inigo would wake to find him weeping" I read before noticing Mia taking pictures of us.
I flushed red and hid behind the book, James chuckled while Mia and Fleamont whispered. James picked me up and sat me on his knee, he kissed my cheek. I smiled and watched as he talked to his dad about quidditch. Sirius and Remus came back in and sat next to us. "You're staring, Fal." Sirius whispered, I blushed and faced Sirius. He was smirking while holding Remus' hand. I rolled my eyes before turning back to James. Marlene and Lily came down with their trunks.
The girls walked into the kitchen with Mia and said their goodbyes, happy christmases, and thanks. They walked to the rest of us and waved as they used the floo to Evans' house. Regulus and Viv came and joined, while Fleamont joined his wife in the kitchen. Everyone divulged into conversations, I turned to face James. He smirked, giving me a quick glance before continuing the conversation with Viv and Reg.
