After sitting through countless greetings with the different houses, Alexandra was able to escape to a less crowded area. She strolls out to the long balcony attached to the ball room. It spans a little under a kilometer across the palace. She looks from left to right and becomes suddenly aware that most of the people out there are young couples gazing at each other in the moonlight. She rolls her eyes and walks up to the balustrade railing.

She looks out into the town outside the gates. Their colorful lights and boisterous celebration looks more joyful than the royals ball. Last year she disguised herself as a townsmen and attended their version of the Peace Festival. It was one of the most fun nights she's ever had. If she could she would join them again...but she can't...not now.

"I've always felt the common folk had more fun, wouldn't you agree, Princess?"

Alexandra doesn't even look at the man next to her, the accent is very apparent. The prince of Portugal's ruler, Minho of House Castro.

"I would. Have you ever joined them?"

In her right peripheral she sees him rest his forearms on the railing and presses up to her side. She feels tingles on her arm, she guesses they're more comfortable with touch in Portugal.

"Of course I have. I've been joining them at least once a week for quite awhile now. They live so care free, not worrying about what house is visiting or who we're going to war with next. The only reason I want to rule is to keep that. Let the townsmen have their carefree simple lives."

"Then you must not be interested in ruling here."

A male voice seems to come out of nowhere and Alexandra looks to her other side. Seungmin of House Olivares leans on the railing flashing a challenging smile at the other prince. She feels Minho's muscles tense next to her. Portugal and Spain have been rivals for decades.

"I never said that."

Ignoring the Prince, Seungmin takes the future queen's hand and plants a gentle kiss on it, "Pleased to finally meet you, your highness."

The sudden romantic gesture throws her off, but she doesn't let it show, curtsying in response. Minho scoffs and rolls his eyes.

"If you don't mind we were in the middle of a conversation, Prince Seungmin."

"I overheard it was about the common people, yes? I roam among them quite often in Spain. It's refreshing to live with so little worries."

Minho stands up straight and faces the other prince, "I know what your doing, Spaniard. You won't steal another opportunity from my country."

Seungmin stops leaning on the railing and squints his eyes, "We don't steal, we win."

The two countries haven't had a war with each other in decades, but ever since then they've hated each other to the point that they can't see how similar they actually are.

"Oh? So interrupting our conversation is called winning?"

"Who said I was interrupting? Was I interrupting, Princess?"

Before Alexandra can speak, Minho steps forward trapping her between the two, "Don't bring her into this, this is between me and you."

"Are you planning on making a scene again, Minho?"

"Again? The New Years banquet was your fault!"

"My fault? You threw your wine at me!"

"Cause you were being annoying!"

The two continued to argue with each other as Alexandra looked around for an escape. A flash of light blue hair catches her eye. Felix of House Gramont notices the trapped Princess and beckons her to join him. She smiles in relief.
