I pressed my lips together as Kate finishes the last touches of my make up. I dont like wearing make up but today is my birthday so why not. It was just light make up so I didn't care much anyway.

"Fuck! When did you become so hot?" She exclaimed as I wear my heels on.

"Stop it, Kate! I mean it! You are so childish" I rolled my eyes at her, probably the 20,000th time.

"I'll head down first and see what's happening in the back yard. Continue combing your hair" She muttered before dissappearing.

Around 4 in the afternoon Kate was still not back and I grew impatient inside my room.

After a few deliberation with my subconscious I decided to go down.

As soon as I opened the door I heard distant and loud chattering. It feels like the whole house is packed but the noise was all coming from outside. Mother hates getting dirt on the furnace so we never host parties inside the house. All the activities and events happen outside in the back yard.

I skipped my way to the halls and into the glass sliding door. The whole yard was almost filled with guests in formal clothes.

I tries to push thru the sea of people to find Kate.

"Darling, I haven't asked anyone to tell you to come down here yet-" My mother exclaimed,

"Well, as you say mother, this is my party after all, right? So I guess I could do whatever I want."

I walked my way pushing people before I could find Kate standing beside a tall blonde guy, I blinked my eyes a few times, Did Larry dye his hair because I am sure as hell that he was a brunette that last time I saw him and I know Kate and him got into a fight and there is no way he's going here just to see her.

After 15 or more blinks, I finally got out of my trance and almost punched myself on the face.

Kate was not with Larry, she was laughing and giggling with Mr. Hemmings.

I can feel all the blood circle down the drain and I was left cold and pale.

"Hey! Birthday Girl!" Kate exclaimed outloud and I instantly snapped back to reality. "C'mere!" She nudges me over, "I want you to meet someone!"

Oh god no please.

"This is Mr. Hemmings, well..Luke Hemmings! But anyways he's so nice you could learn alot of things from him, I know I did!" She gushes

You have no idea.

"Oh Kate, stop saying that, we had nothing but to talk about business stocks, its nothing Tatum would be instested in. Right, Tatum?"

"Yes, sure, Sir." I answered politely even though I can feel my palms starting to sweat.

"Wait, you guys know each other??" Kate asked in disbelief.

You really have no idea!!!

I nodded.

"Since when?"

"Don't worry about it, Kate. Its not a big deal" I rolled my eyes, she's obviously drunk, I can smell the presence of alcohol in her breath. Whiskey.

I can feel Luke's eyes fixated on me as his stares send goosebumps on my skin. I tried to ignore it.

"Kate I think you've had enough" I tried to grab away the glass from her hand but she shove me away.

"Stop being a party pooper!" She whined and I let her go.

Before I could say another word, the sound of a bread knife being gently hit on the side of a wine glass repeatedly made it sure that my mother is about to make an announcement.

"I would like your attention for a moment please-" She started, "First of all, I want to thank you all for coming here and I would like to call on my daughter, who is the one celebrating her birth day today..Tatum." She exclaimed and I had no choice but to walk towards her where she was infront of everybody.

I felt myself sinking as I hear everyone starting to clap their hands together as I ascend the small platform by the gazeebo.

My mom handed me the microphone and I cleared my throat creating the microphone to make a static noise and everyone covered their ears and I've never felt so epic. I hated attention this much. I will never be like my mother who seeks it.

"I uh-..thank you everyone, wow, I didnt know everyone I invited will really attend and see me today!" I faked a smile, even the first line of my speech is a lie, I dont even know who this people are, how the fuck can I even invite them? "Its such a previlage to have you here today in my birthday. This is going to be a great year for me and I hope that it's going to be the same with you. I hope you enjoy tonight!" I raised the champagne glass that my mother just handed and proposed a toast, "Here's to happiness!" I exclaimed and all the glasses made their usual sound when they get hit with each other and I took a sip of the sparkling alcohol.

I placed the microphone back to the stand and before I could even place my left foot on the ground down the platforn my mom grabbed my hand and asked me to stay.

What the fuck is she going to do this time?

"I have further anouncements.." She cleared her throat, causing everyone to look at her again, "Tatum is getting engaged!" She smiled and I just stared at her wide eyes and back to Kate.

"What the fuck is she talking about?" Kate mouthed my direction and I swear to god I didnt know what to do.

Everyone stared at me and their eyes looked pleased, except the ones I just came to notice.

"In fact.. Her groom to be, or should I say fiancee is here?" She smiled at my direction and I just wanted to punch her but I couldnt. I have no idea what she was doing or what she was talking about. I must be out of my mind or everyhting that is happening right now is just a dream or better yet a..hallucination.

"Please welcome, Mr. Calum Thomas Hood." My mother exclaimed clapping her hands and everyone clapped along as well,

"Let go of me! I said let go of me!" A guy with dark hair and tanned skin exclaimed as he was being dragged in to the platfrom towards the opposite direction where I am standing.

"Youre just my body guards! you cant fucking do this to me!" He exclaimed loudly, he doesnt have any idea that everyone was looking at him, wide eyed.

When his foot was on the stage his body guard lets him go and he stood and fixed his tux with an annoyed huff.

"Ah there he is, what a delight. Now, if Tatum could please stand beside me?" My mother asked,

I did what she said wanting to see what was going to happen.

The dark haired boy just stared at me with no emotions in his eyes. He looked bored and he looked like he didnt care. I didnt give him much attention either. I did t even gave him a second glance.

"You two are a sight, congratulations to the both of you" My mother smiled at us.

I rolled my eyes at her and I felt that the dark haired boy saw it because I caught a glimpse of him smirking at me as he sees my attitude.

"This is bullshit!" I exclaimed before excusing myself.

I heard my mother gasp but I didnt care. She is being too much. I know it's my birthday but there is no way in hell I'm getting married with this guy, I dont even know him.

I pushed right thru the the crowd and I felt warm hands grabbing my wrists and dragging me out of the scene.
