JENS POV

I was shocked when she told me that kaydon was her mate. I knew now why she said if we fought it would hurt her. I guess I should make amends with him but if a he tries anything and he ends up hurting her I will castrate him with a spoon. I spoke calmly to her.

"Kaydon is your mate"

"Yes"

"well I am happy for you Kayla but if he tries anything I will castrate him with a spoon"Kayla chuckled and I kept a serious face for a little while and since her smile is contagious I smiled too. she soon spoke.

"okay I agree to that. so what do we do now"

"we get some snacks and watch some tv" we got up and went downstairs and went straight to the kitchen and grabbed all the candy we could get and made sure to get a lot of red vines it was our favorite. we went back up to Kayla's  room and started an criminal minds marathon. we got comfortable on the bed and put the food in front of us and started the marathon.

4 hours later (KAYLA'S POV)

we finished the first 2 seasons and it was the first time in a long time I have had fun. we decided on a little break. we were gathering garbage and dishes when Layton walks in. Jen takes one look at him and she speaks.

"hey Kayla do you think before we start our marathon up again I could talk to Kaydon alone"

"sure I got to take these dishes back to the kitchen. be nice while I am gone please" I grab all of the dishes and leave towards the kitchen. I put them in the sink and turn to leave when I run into something. I wait for the impact of the ground but it never comes. that would make that twice now. I look up to see who caught me. it was that guard Darrel. he helped me back up and then it fell to an awkward silence and then after awhile I spoke.

" thanks for catching me I can be such a klutz" he chuckles and responds.

"no problem. what are you doing down here anyway last time I checked Jen never let you out of her sight"

"well she wanted to talk to kaydon alone so I took the dishes from our room back to the kitchen so yeah"

"well how are you feeling"

"good I mean as well as I can be in this situation"

"you know this is the most I have heard you talk Kayla"

"well Jen said you guys won't hurt me like...."

"like what"

"I am sorry Darrel I am not ready to tell my story yet"

"I won't pressure you into anything. by the way the guy who hurt you he says sorry. he will tell you when he sees you but he's working right now so yeah"

"well I should go back to Jen before she thinks something happened to me" with that I left to my room and hoped they only talked and not fought.

JEN'S POV

when Kayla left I turned to Kaydon and spoke.

"so you are mates"

"Yes we are do you have a problem with that"

"no I just need to make sure you don't hurt her"

"I would never hurt her she is my mate"

"she has a heavy past and trust me it took a great toll on her"

"when do you think she will tell me"

"I don't know but don't push her to it we will never no how bad it would hurt her she needs to slowly recover and then tell it when she is ready"

"I will wait for her any day"

"so when did you know"

"when I went to dots diner her scent hit me"

"what is her scent"

"lavender and peppermint"

"well I will give you a warning if you hurt her I will castrate you with and spoon and I have already warned her of that" before he could respond Kayla walked in with a sad smile but still a smile. I will ask about that later. Kaydon smiled at her and she smiled back she walked over and hugged him. she soon stopped hugging him much to his dismay. he had to leave anyway. we sat down and before we started it I spoke.

"are you okay"

"ye-"

"don't say yes I saw your sad smile when you came in. do you want to talk about it"

"it was nothing but if you must know I ran into Darrel"

"what happened"

"well I ran into him literally and then we talked and then I said something that made him ask about my past"

"did you tell him"

"no but I wanted to I just don't know if I am ready"

"well you know I am there for you and when you are ready then I am ready okay"

"you know I might tell then in a few days it just depends on everything that goes on though"

"okay now let's get back to the marathon" she turned on the next season and then came and sit next to me and soon we fell asleep on the floor an  into peaceful sleeps. I hope.
