*Damien*

You laid against Duncan and dozed, half awake and starring at the wall. "You okay?" You sighed and stuck out your tongue. "Bored. You really won't let me leave?" Duncan shook his head. "You already know your not going out unless your exercising." You huffed. "You realize I could completely topple you if I wanted outside bad enough." Duncan chuckled. "I know, but you won't." You rolled your eyes knowing he was right.

"So if I agree to exercise, you'll let me outside?" Duncan nodded truthfully. "Okay then, let's go exercise!" You said, basically jumping out of the bed and stretching. "For real? I heard thunder a bit ago." You scoffed. "Scared of thunder are we?" Duncan rolled his eyes. "Whatever, lets go then." Duncan got out of bed and walked downstairs and out the front door with you.

You shifted and nearly ran Into Gwen who was carrying a pot in her arms. You reared back and snorted. "Gwen? What are you doing here?" Duncan asked skeptically. "I heard Damien was sick, so I asked chef to make him something special that he would Like." You sniffed at the pot and you tail started wagging when you smelled beef and fish soup. "What are you doing here?" Gwen asked Duncan. "Helping Wolfy here get back into shape, and to help him out while he's sick." Gwen rolled her eyes with a sarcastic "suuuure you are."

Duncan crossed his arms. "okay smart ass, what's in the soup then?" Gwen scoffed. "Like I know what chef put in this, I saw fish, beef, some herbs and fish broth, but that was all I recognized." You nosed Gwen and she followed you back into the house. You guided Gwen to the Bar and nosed Duncan into a chair. You trotted behind the counter and changed, pulling out a couple of bowls and a ladel. "Alright, lemme see that soup." Your mouth was watering as you scooped portions into bowls and slid them across the bar.

You served yourself and grabbed spoons from a drawer, handing one to each person before saying a silent thank you and tucking in. You immediatly recognized the flavors and fish. Cod, Rainbow trout, squid, and catfish. An odd but delicous combination. Between the beef, cilantro, and four kinds of fish, you were in tasteful afterlife. (no, not heaven). You ate slow and deep, enjoying every flovour until you hit the bottom of the bowl. You drank the broth and licked your lips, wanting yet resisting a second serving.

Duncan had finished and Gwen was close behind. "That was really good. Can I have a little more?" Asked Gwen. You spooned a little more into her bowl and sat back while she ate.

"I'm going back outside to get some air, feel free to get drinks if you want." You heard Duncan get up and follow you outside. You shifted and ran around in circles for a minute. "The hell are you doing?"

You hopped around, stretching your legs over and over. Duncan looked on like you were going rabid or something. You shook yourself and rolled on your back in the leaves. You felt like a kid again and you loved the feeling. You shifted and laughed like a child until tears were streaming down your cheeks. Leaves fell all around you and Duncan sat next to you. Your laughter eventually died down to a smile and you laid in the leaves, daydreaming of your childhood home. Duncan laid down and you both laid watching the clouds drifting across the blue sky.

"How did you ever survive juvie knowing something like this was sitting outside the walls?" You asked Duncan quietly. "I kept myself busy. Always doing something." You were still baffled. "How? I was in the same place and keeping busy only distracted me. When I went to my cell, all I could do was think about getting out. It almost drove me mad." You heard Duncan sit up, partially at least and he moved to sit over you to look into your mismatched eyes. "You wouldn't have gone mad." You looked on with tears starting to form in your eyes. "How do you know? I could've easily lost it while I was trapped on that stupid place. " Duncan's eyes hardened as he looked at you. "No. Just no. I refuse to believe that. I've seen you. The way you interact with everyone here. You're strong but gentle, even with people like Heather. I refuse to believe you could go insane just from the cruelty of someone else, you're to stubborn for that." You propped yourself on your elbow. "But.." "But nothing, now shut up about it, I don't want to hear you say thing like that about yourself. You are to damn strong to be giving up like that." Duncan leaned down and kissed you gently before he laid back beside you, intertwining his and your fingers while you watched the sky.
