*Damien*

I hadn't seen anyone all day and I was starting to worry. It was already sundown and there was no one to be seen. Even Duncan had disappeared.

I sighed and curled into a little ball. My heart was aching being away from Duncan and I was beginning to think he'd ran off with Courtney. My eyes stung with tears at the thought.

I sniffled and wiped my eyes, closing them to try and sleep.

A knock at the cabin door had my attention and I got out of my bunk to answer the door.

I wiped my eyes and nose one more time before opening the door.

On the other side stood Harold.

  "Oh, hey Harold. What's up?"

"Hey, are you okay? You look like you've been crying."

I shook my head and wiped my face. "No I'm fine, just allergies that's all."

Harold shrugged and walked away. "Harold!"

   He turned.

   "Where is everyone?" I asked.

"Don't know. Check the dining hall I guess."

I bolted out the door and jogged for the dining hall.

As soon as my shoes clacked on the stairs the doors burst open and lights came on and everyone was shouting, hurting my poor ears.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAMIEN!!!"

   I stopped. Frozen.

  What??

Tears started streaming down my face and I started crying.

Duncan came over and kissed me. "Happy birthday. I hope I didn't scare you."

I hugged him hard and smiled, still crying.

"Damien why are you crying?"

I shook my head. "Nothing. I'm fine, just happy to finally see you. Thank you."

"Come on, let's have some fun!"

Duncan pulled me into the room and turned on the boom box.

Rock music began belting out of the speakers and everyone started dancing. I laughed and began dancing with everyone.

Chef and Chris stood on the sidelines and watched the prom-esc scene like it was a movie.

The cake was a gorgeous three tier cake with beautiful white and brown frosting with green chocolate vines and leaves swirling around the cake to meet roses that dotted the cake tiers.

I stopped and admired the cake, smelling every flavor in the pillow-y layers. The detail in the vines and leaves left me speechless.

Wrapped presents sat on the table beside the cake labeled from each camper.

I felt breathless. This was why everyone was gone all day.

Duncan knudged me and nodded towards Chris.

"Happy birthday kiddo. Thanks to Duncan we were able to do something small."

I looked to Duncan who was smiling at me. "You could've told me you were busy at least." I huffed playfully. Chris laughed. "Were you jealous or something? Don't worry no one's stealing his dumb butt."

"Hey, he's not dumb." I snapped back half-joking. Duncan pulled your back to his chest and kissed the back of your neck. "Don't listen to them love."

I growled and smirked at Chris who looked about ready to faint. "Just kidding." I snickered and backed off just a little.

I went back to the table to get a drink, feeling overwhelmed a little. Duncan seemed glued to my side, following me everywhere I went.

I wasn't complaining, more for me.

Duncan seemed to read my thoughts and pressed himself closer to me. Leaning in so than his lips were just centimeters from my ear. "Trust me love, all of me is yours."

I snickered and turned wrapping my arms around his neck. "Good."

"You two totally need to get a room." Gwen walked up with a smirk.

"Been there, done that sweetheart." I chirped back, feeling sassy. Gwen's eyes widened and she went a little pale. "You... Did you... Duncan a word. Now."

Dread and annoyance dropped like a rock in my stomach. She was rat out Duncan and me to Chris.

With my sharp hearing I picked up the conversation.

Gwen was talking first, and it sounded like an argument.

"How could you do that Duncan? Knowing full well you'll have to leave?"

"He was in heat and in pain! And I'm not leaving him, not after tonight. Chris knows how close we are and he's not gonna let Damien suffer with my leaving. He's already negotiated with my parents already. If my being a deviant wasn't enough, they want nothing from a gay son. They have my little brother and they don't want me. End of story."

Gwen sighed and rubbed her face. "Does Chris know?"

"What? That we banged? Duh, of course. He saw the change in Damien as soon as we came back and told me everything I need to know about it. Don't worry I'm not that irresponsible Gwen."

Gwen sighed again and waved him away. "Just get out of here, and treat him right bone-head."

I noticed the sun setting and looked towards the window to the outside.

The sudden urge to run hit me hard. I ignored it and walked up to Duncan and Gwen. "He treats me fine Gwen. I'm 18 now you don't have to worry about me."

Gwen smiled at me. "Right, sorry I didn't mean to butt in to you personal business, just worried is all."

"I know." I said. "But I have Chris and Duncan already doing that." Gwen snickered and looked at Duncan.

I looked at Duncan. "Can we go outside?"

Duncan smiled gently. "Of course. But let's have some cake and presents first. Hey Chris! Cake time!"
