NATES POV-
~after going over to James' house~
After Tate and I went over to James' house we settled to go to a cute little park near my house.
I was watching Tate play soccer, making constant goals. Well he is from England after all, I guess I understand how he's so good at soccer. He wanted me to play with him. But since I suck at everything sports, I decided to opt out.
I felt the wind fly across my hair, I moved my body forward, sitting on the ground I shifted my legs to sit in a "criss cross apple sauce" kinda form.
Tate stopped for a moment, the ball laying solemnly in the grass. He turned his head and looked into my direction. He flashed me a smile, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING OVER THERE MATE?!?" Tate chuckled softly.
"Oh. Just watching." I replied, keeping my eyes attached on Tate.
Tate giggled, starting to walk towards me. He took a seat next to me, his shoulder brushing up against mine. "I guess you just cant keep your eyes off me, can you lovely?" He smirked slyly, looking at me with his cocky gaze.
My cheeks started to heat up, I looked to the green grass, trying to avoid his watching gaze.
"M- Maybe." I replied softly."Aw, come on Nate. I was just teasing you. There's not a reason to get all flustered like that." Tate playfully said, playfully hitting me in the shoulder.
Tate paused for a moment, as if he was in thought. "Plus..." Tate added, still staring at me, "it's so cute when you get all flustered like that."
My cheeks reddened even more, my gaze was still attached to the green grass.
"Come on Nate." Tate said desperately, almost begging, "Let me see that cute little face of yours."
I shook my head. My face was wayyyy too red to let him see. I probably looked like a tomato about now.
Tate took my chin in his hand, forcing me to look into his eyes. He smiled fondly, "You're such a cutie. You know that right?"
I stayed silent, feeling awkward of how his face was to mine. Just inches away. Inches.
He leaned in, making my heart beat race even faster. Like the sound of a beat on a drum, getting louder and louder, faster and faster.
Our faces were centimeters alway before Tate pulled back, releasing my chin and looking to the side. Practically looking off into the distance.
"You know, I've been thinking..." Tate remarked softly, his legs outstretched and his hands behind him, holding him up. "It is kinda getting late, shouldn't I take you home about now?" He asked me, looking around awkwardly.
"My.. My parents will probably be fine with us being out for another hour or so." I spoke softly, biting my lip. "Plus... I forgot to ask you... Where are you even staying?"I inquired worriedly.
"Ah." He said, taking a deep breath. "Now that mate, is a secret." He told me, shaking his finger at me. "But I'm sure you'll find out sooner or later." He then winked at me.
I tensed up again, blood rushing to my cheeks once again.
"You also have school tomorrow." Tate stated, standing up and stretching his arms out. "It's a Wednesday."
"Oh." I breathed out stupidly, "You're right. I totally forgot about that."
Tate giggled for a bit, "now let's get you home. Kay? I'm sure I'll see you tomorrow." Tate suggested, seeming like he knew something, but I guess I'll find that out later.
"Okay." I replied, taking a deep breath and standing up. "Let's get going."
