My father always said, 'first impressions are everything, never disappoint'. He was a proud man, proud of his daughter and the life she had built for herself. Well I can tell you something now, my life as a cop isn't all sunshine and daisies.
"I heard a new detective is starting today, I wonder what there like" Amy said, sitting herself on Jakes desk.
Jake was caught in a stalemate with a case, combing through his evidence again to attempt to discover a new lead, a direction to go forward in.
"Maybe they can crake this case, because it's impossible.." He said, gently slamming his computers mouse on the table. He wasn't a violent man, never wanting to hurt anyone, not even his computers mouse.
"She's good, I spoke to her old C.O and he was sad to lose her.." Terry said, leaning over Jakes shoulder to review the evidence, hoping a fresh set of eyes was needed to help get a solve.
"Bout time another girl showed up, there's too much testosterone in here.." Rosa said, let out a small laugh.
"Well she will be here any minute and-" Terry said, cut off by the ding of the bullpens elevator.
I stepped out of the elevator, cup of coffee I had gotten from a street cart outside the precinct. I noticed the eyes of the other detectives on me as I pushed open the small gate, all eyes but a brown haired man who's head was buried in a file.
"Hi, are you Sargent Jeffords?" I said, extending my hand.
The sound of my voice allowed the man with brown hair to lift his head from a file, although he didn't speak.
"You can call me Terry, your detective Bishop?" He said, shaking my hand.
"Yeah I am, you can call me Riley. I was told I had to meet with the Captain when I arrived, where might I find him?"
Terry led me to a back office where I met my new captain, Caption Raymond Holt. He stood and gave me a firm handshake before I took my seat for the meeting.
"Nice hand shake.." He said as I sat down.
"Thank you sir.."
"It's your first day on the squad, I spoke with your old C.O and he only said good things. I want to pair you with Peralta, he has a double homicide that isn't going anywhere and you can help him make a solve.." He said, a lot of fun for the first day.
"Excellent, anything else I need to know?"
"Since Santiago move downstairs, she recently made Sergeant, her desk is open and its yours" He said, standing up as I joined him.
"Thank you sir, I can't wait to get settled in.." I said, shaking his hand once more before walking out to be introduced.
"Squad, can I have your attention!" Holt called, catching the attention of the bullpen.
"This is detective Riley Bishop, she's a transfer and starts today, dismissed!"
I moved to see the clear desk, probably for me if I went by process of elimination. Terry arrived over to where I was sat, making sure I was getting settled in.
"Do you have a case?" He said, eating his cup of yogurt.
"I have been assigned to work with Peralta?" I questions, wondering which of the deceives that was.
"That would be me.."
The man in front of me, the one with the short brown hair, piped up and spoke to me.
"The names Jake Peralta, I guess you're woking this with me" He said in an ominous tone.
"Riley Bishop, do you have the file?" I said, avoiding his hilarious egotistical persona.
