"Did you just say we are lost?! No Y/N, please don't scare me..." Jake almost cried. "L-let me try to do something,, please calm down" I tried to pacify him. I thought of calling Sunwoo or Nicholas first, but it was me who brought them here. What could they even do?!
Then I remebered someone else who knows about this place, My dad.
I called him and waited until he picked up. "Yes love?" "Dad!!! Are you busy?" I asked. "Not really, I decided to take a break from work. Is something wrong?"
"Dad......come to my hideout,, I forgot the way and its getting dark. Please bring your car too, I have a friend here with me...we can drop him at his house" I explained.
"Oh is that so? Ah don't worry, be near your friend and do not split up. Stay where you are, your hero dad is coming" he said on the line. "Dad, ew...cringe" I said, feeling reliefed. Then he just laughed out loud and declined the call. I don't know how he can joke at times like this and be so chill about everything. That's actually quite admirable. Mom is the total opposite. If she came to know about this incident, she will never let me leave the house again.
JAKE'S P.O.V -
After Y/N explained everything to me, I felt gald that there is someone who could save us. We just stood there silently....and that's when the bush near me rattled. "AHH" I yelled. Y/N flinched and asked me "Jake? what happened?"
"T-there.....is something behind that b-bush" I stuttered. Y/N took slow steps towards it and observed silenty. Suddenly something flew out of it. Screaming, I fell down.
Pure embarrassment.
Y/N was laughing at me while holding a wounded bird in her hand. I thought 'Y/N isn't the type of person to laugh at me instead of examining the bird'.
She took a deep breath and looked at the bird. Her eyes seemed to say - 'Hang in there, you are safe with me'.
"Ah....You make me laugh, Jake" she said and added after a pause "There is nothing I can do for this bird right here now.....I will to reach home first". I knew she won't give me a hand right now as the bird is probably more wounded than me as I just fell.
I pushed hard and picked myself up to stand straight. Just then, lights shone throughout the tree trunks of the forest surrounding the river. They were Y/N's dad's car's headlights, hopefully.
"Oi! come here you both!" He called us out. Y/N breathed a sih of relief and ran towards the source of light. I followed her and reached her dad.
"Come quick! I don't want your mom to suspect anything" he said. Y/N and I chuckled and took a seat.
And that's when I took a better look at her dad...
