CHAPTER 6

He said in a booming voice.

I flinched "Sir- uh.... I came to Australia to study and work here as an independent student. I really wanted to live alone so I thought a cafe would be the best place to start."

"So... you would work part time?" he questioned in a scary tone. "Ye-yes" I said timidly. "Then no worries boy! I already like you! you can start officially from next week. But you can always visit and train earlier if you want!" he said slapping my back. I guess he did it lovingly but it hurt. Anyways, I think he is very nice, he just has a loud and thundering voice.

"Alright Sir! I will see if I can visit tomorrow" I smiled at him and....

"Y/N here! Have a good day, Jake~" She said and waved at me from the counter. I waved back and smiled brightly. My name being called out by her was a totally different feeling. I loved it. It's really been long since I smiled like this. I thought I couldn't survive here, but looks like I have some hope...

I came out and took another taxi to my new school. "Hello? Uncle? You...." I called him. "Yes, my child. I did your admission... you just need to go and visit the principal for a tour and a small interview" he explained. "Okay... and.... how is Nicholas doing?" I asked. "Jake.... he- to be honest, he is depressed. He even had a fight with me saying he wants to stay with you there".

I sighed. "I can't stay looking at him like this. He looks so dull and pale.. I think I should send him. You both shall go to the same school".

"Um... uncle, I think you should do what you think is right. I really don't know what to decide from my side. I will be happy for him if he either came here or stay at his home. The choice is up  to you".

After a pause, he said "Then he shall arrive the day after tomorrow".

"Thank you so much!!" I couldn't stop smiling after that call. I was extremely excited now. I had reached the school. I got out of the car and went inside the campus. I asked a few staff and students for the principal 's  office. "May I come in?" I said as I knocked on the door.

"Oh hello there! You must be Jake" she said. She must be 45- 50 years old, looking at her. "Yes, how did you know?" I asked. "Your uncle called and said you would be arriving and shared some information about you. Like, Pictures, age, hobbies, past academic achievements.."

I nodded. "So, would you like a tour?" she kindly asked. "Sure!" I smiled. She led me to my new classroom. "You would be joining from... next week right?" "Yes" I replied.

She took me through gardens, canteens, dorms etc. I honestly loved the place.

Just waiting for Nicholas to arrive now...
