"Passion Fruit Martini," I smiled brightly at the bar tender. A bit of pink blushed across his cheeks and he nodded. Man, I love this place. Athena's Olive Tree, it's one of the only bars in the Yeongdeungpo district that doesn't card me. The bartender here is friends with my big brother, so I get to drink underage. Talk about brother privilege.
The chair, a few seats away from me, scrapped across the floor. I looked over to see a boy with purple hair and glasses sit down. He looked a little sad and was covered in bruises. The bartender, Mason, handed me my drink and I sipped on it.
After about thirty minutes the guy a few seats down waved down Mason. "Liquid Cocaine."
Another thirty minutes passed and I watched as the guy drank more and more. What happened to him? I payed my tab and was about to leave when the guy slammed his shot glass, upside down, on the bar counter and threw his head back with a heavy sigh. Okay, I feel like playing charity tonight.
I walked over to where he was and pulled up a chair beside him. "Rough night?"
He looked at me with a blank expression and then turned away, and now I feel like a loser for saying that. This isn't how it turns out in the movies.
"You were supposed to scoff and say 'yeah' while raising your brows and taking another drink of your," I paused and look at the shot glass, "yeah."
"Fuck off."
"Damn. Now I feel bad for bothering you. Do you really want me to just go?"
He looked at me, this time with a glare. I watched as the light moved with his glasses, while he turned his head towards me. Our eyes met and he seemed to focus on me. I got uncomfortable and looked away after a couple seconds.
"Yeah, sorry for bothering you," I waved Mason down. "Hey, put this guys drinks on Jay's tab, alright?"
"Is Jay gonna be fine with that?" Mason raised an eyebrow.
"Just tell him they were mine," I gave him a cheesy smile.
"You want me to lie to my best friend?"
"Ugh, fine. Don't say anything and I'll tell him they're mine."
"Yeah, whatever. What if that dude orders the whole bar?"
"I'll figure something out."
"Yeah, you could do some dishes."
I leaned over the counter and raised a brow. "Dishes?"
He let out a soft laugh. "Go home, (Y/N). I think the alcohol is hitting you."
"What?" I say in a higher octave than normal and drag my words out. "No! What?"
"Or you can stay and I'll walk you home after my shift."
"Nah, I've got it. I'm a big girl," I held my arm up and flexed my muscles. "See that? That's what track does to you."
"(Y/N)," he sighed my name, giving up all hope on a serious conversation, "track works your legs and core. Your arms don't get much work out."
"You don't know what you're talking about, man," I look at the guy beside me. "Don't buy the whole bar, please."
He just stares at me and I smile, standing up. A wave of dizziness floods over me and I stumble a little. I take a step and immediately lose my footing. The guy sighs and suddenly my fall stops. I look down to see the guy put his arm out to stop me from falling. His hand is firmly placed on my waist as he lifts me back up and I balance myself.
