Flashing Lights || Iwaoi

chapter 4

"We are here" Yachi, Oikawa's manager, knocked on the glass door. 

"It was about time" the director whispered and sighed.

Oikawa and Yachi arrived to the meeting late. Oikawa had bed hair and wore a hoodie with sweats. A coffee in his hand and his phone in the other. 

"How many times do I have to say. Oikawa we need to stop partying on the weekdays. Stop persuading me." Yachi whispered as they walked to the table

"Mhm yep yep" Oikawa nodded 

The two sat down at the table, there were three other people. A famous movie director that directed many hit movies, Tanji Kashin. Yachi mentioned that the two others would be another actor and his manager, but they were all irrelevant to Oikawa. 

"Everyone is finally here".

"Sorry for the delay" Yachi bowed.

"I have gathered two very famous and talented actors today. I have a movie preposition."

"We are all ears" the other actor's manager replied.

"I want something out of the ordinary in Japan. Something that can spark a conversation. Something to be normalized here. The LGBTQ+ community."

Oikawa was listening. If it was him a year half ago, he would've stormed out of the meeting. Tooru knew he was straight but there was no reason to hate gay people. So many valuable people in the entertainment industry and his two best friends are gay.

"I want you two to be the lead of my upcoming boys love movie. Now we don't have to talk deeply about it but are you interested?"

"Yes I am interested but if we were to do this move, how will you handle the media? I am a straight man and I don't want people to miss-assuming my sexuality." the other actor spoke up

"He is probably closeted to agree so quickly," Oikawa thought.

"How about you Oikawa"?

"Of course yes!" Yachi quickly shouted. Oikawa had no choice. The head manager was already upset about paying so much shush money to gossip outlets, he needed to bring them lots of income.

"Alright. This meeting is dismissed. More serious planning will come later."

The director quickly left and it was only the four. There was silence then they all stood up together, it was extremely awkward.  The male stood in front of Oikawa. Tooru never looked at him during the meeting so he thought he was just a lame upcoming actor but oh he was so wrong.

"Iwaizumi Hajime"

Oikawa's eyes widened. He removed his sunnies to get a good look. In front of him was a muscular male. His voice was deep but soothing. Iwaizumi Hajime. People can call Iwaizumi Oikawa's competitor but let's face it, Oikawa thinks too highly of himself to think of Iwaizumi as a competitor. 

"Hello" Oikawa brought his hand out to shake the male's hand "Nice to formally meet you. I have a meeting to catch but I hope we can uh get to know eachother more next time".

Oikawa quickly ran out with his manager. There was no meeting. He just felt nervous and he had to leave the room. 

"What was that about"?

"I don't know I felt anxious".
