Flashing Lights || Iwaoi

"Let's go," Iwaizumi grabbed Oikawa's hand.

It was their first official date. Tooru always knew deep down ever since that night at the club that Iwaizumi would be special to him. He couldn't wrap his head around it, he fell for him. But Iwaizumi couldn't know about it, he wasn't that easy.

They walked out of the hotel, Oikawa following Iwaizumi. Hajime was holding a basket, so Oikawa assumed the date was going to be a picnic. Before they got ready, Iwaizumi and Oikawa spent the whole morning cuddling and sleeping in. Especially after the long night of fucking, Tooru needed a break. 

After 10 minutes, they arrived at this place with a large gate. It looked like a park with a lake but no one was there and it was closed off. A guard led them inside the gate and from the distance, Oikawa spotted a picnic blanket with food. It was almost sunset and the setting was beautiful. There were candles and flowers. 

They reached the picnic and Oikawa turned around. Iwaizumi holding a bouquet of flowers. Iwaizumi knew Oikawa was gonna make fun of him but that wasn't the case. Tooru hugged him and whispered, "thank you".

The two sat down and started talking about life in general. One of the baskets had fun things like crossword puzzles and paint supplies. Beside the picnic area was a large oak tree with a swing hanging from it. The whole place was beautiful. The setting sun reflected onto the lake.

"You didn't have to do all this idiot."

"But I wanted to." 

Oikawa leaned on Iwaizumi's shoulder, holding hands, as they watched the sunset. Oikawa and Iwaizumi both had never felt this way about someone before. It felt like they were the only people in the world, Oikawa was the only guy for him and Iwaizumi was the only guy for Tooru. 

The sun had set and yellow lights turned on. Fairy lights scattered all over the park and more candles were lit up. 

"Wait a sec." Iwaizumi walked to the back of the tree to get something.

"What's that?"

"A lantern. Our names are written on it, let's light it up."

Oikawa nodded as he stood up and walked next to Iwaizumi. Hajime pulled out a lighter from his back pocket. The two lightly gripped onto each side of the lantern as Iwaizumi held the flame onto the wick.

"3...2...1..." 

They lifted their hands from the lantern and watched it soar from the sky. Iwaizumi looked at Oikawa, who was mesmerized by the lantern. His eyes grew wider as hundreds of lanterns appeared above them. Oikawa turned to Iwaizumi in awe. The sky was beautiful as the lanterns filled the sky.

"100 lanterns, 100 candles, 100 days since we met, 100 days ever since I fell for you, and I would spend 100 eternities just to relive it all."

"And today marks the 100th day knowing I was in love with you but the 1st day when I finally admit it," Oikawa whispered.

"I don't want to rush you but be mine Oikawa." Iwaizumi cupped Oikawa's cheeks.

"Flashing lights, they are a pain, right? But if it wasn't for them we would never have met. I would've never been able to be yours."

They leaned in closer for a kiss. It wasn't any of their kisses that had sexual intent, it was romantic and passionate. It felt like fireworks, and that was when Tooru realized there were fireworks. 

"You really are extra."

"What can I say. Also, I forgot to mention in my speech that we used our 100th condom last night."
