Part 4 - Fireplaces & Fiction

Wanker.

I have to take a deep breath and try to resist yanking his stupid earrings out of his stupid ears.

We make our way through the rest of this awful class with Sirius making a few stupid comments and me just completely tuning him out. Eventually he shuts up enough that we can finish our drought. It's not very good but neither is anyone else's in the class. Except... at the end of class I look towards the front to see Lily and James actually smiling together. I had completely forgot they had been put together too.

"I was shocked! I mean he's actually good at potions." Lily rants while we walk towards our favorite tree by the Black Lake. "And he only made like two flirty comments."

"Merlin please don't fall into his trap Lils." I reply dryly. I'm actually happy that she didn't get totally screwed over with her partner though.

"Don't worry, one good potion does not discount his utter stupidity." Lily chuckles. "I'm sorry about Sirius though that's gross that he said that. Are you okay?"

"Yeah it's whatever I guess. He's just a prick."

"Obviously."

If I didn't know Sirius then I probably would've been more upset by what he said, but I do know him. So like I said, it's whatever. I don't believe half the shit that comes out of his mouth anyway.

How I was going to get through an entire year of Potions with him...that's another question.

Me and Lily lean against our tree and begin to read our Arithmacy books.

Wednesday

"Hi is anyone sitting here?" I ask Remus.

"Oh..uh no, you can sit." He replies.

"Great, thanks."

There's no one else I know in my the class. Actually, there's not many students at all. Hmm I thought Ancient Runes sounded interesting but I guess other people don't feel that way.

I hear Remus mumble something next to me.

"Sorry, what?"

"Oh, I just said I should've taken muggle studies."

I can't help laughing, "Yeah, me too. That wouldn't be very fair though would it?"

"Oh who cares, the pure-bloods deserve it."

Oh right I forgot, Remus is half-blood.

"Very true."

"Speaking of pure-bloods, I just wanted to say sorry on Sirius' behave because I heard what he said to you in Potions yesterday. I talked to him after but he's too much of a bitch to actually apologize."

What? He heard? He talked to Sirius? What did Sirius say?

He probably just shrugged it off. Whatever.

"Oh well thanks Remus. I appreciate it." I say honestly. That was actually really sweet of him to say.

He shrugs awkwardly.

We sit through the rest of the lesson and I try my best to keep up. I begin to understand why this class is so empty though, this shit's really hard.

Thursday

I wake up in a sweat.

4:32 A.M.

Damn did I have a nightmare? I can't remember.

My heart is pounding like a sparrow trying to escape it's cage.

I'm gonna take that as a yes.

I try to go back to sleep but after 15 minutes I realize it's not gonna happen.
