The sound of a beeping machine filled the ears of the bluenette as she slowly started to gain conscious. A bright light blinded her sight, a soft groan leaving her mouth as she felt a sudden headache rise.
"Ari!" A panicked Jensen hurriedly stood from his seat and ran to her side. "Ari, how are you feeling?"
Arisa opened her mouth to speak before closing it again once she felt the pain in her throat.
"Oh, here have some water." Jensen helped his sister take a sip from the glass before placing it back down. "You lost a lot of blood... the doctors didn't know if you were going to make it out alive. They had to intubate you when you weren't able to breath on your own because of hypoventilation. Just last night was it that they removed it... and Yesi still hasn't woken up."
"M- mom?"
Jensen sighed and shook his head slowly, "All for One."
Arisa drifted her eyes of off her brother and into the white wall, "what's wrong with Yesi?"
"All for One got to her before he was taken into custody. He used his rivets and one of them almost pierced her heart... she's still in a coma."
"How long was I unconscious for?"
"Two weeks."
"Where's dad?"
"With Yesi. I should probably let him know you're awake–" but before the male could text his father, his phone was snatched away.
"No. I don't want to see him." Arisa said softly. "Not yet, at least."
Jensen sighed but nodded nevertheless, "Can I at least let Denki and your classmates know? They've all been coming everyday for updates. You should probably thank Todoroki too."
At the mention of her bicolored friend, she tilted her head in confusion, "Eh?"
"I was a little too occupied trying to stop All for One from finishing Yesi off... I totally forgot about Shigaraki. He almost got to you but that's when Todoroki showed up and protected you. He's the one who ran all the way to the hospital with you while we continued to fight."
"... interesting."
"That's all you have to say? Really?" Jensen rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"What else can I say? Anyway, what about Shigaraki and Kurogiri?"
"They got away, obviously."
"Not surprised. Anyway, I'm hungry." Arisa unlocked her brother's phone and dialed her pikachu's phone number.
"How is she?! Is she okay?!"
"No. I died, sorry."
"YOU'RE ALIVE!"
"Did you not hear what I said? I'm dead. Inside. Just kidding. Not the reason I called though."
"You want chicken nuggets, don't you?"
"Yes, please."
After hanging up Arisa turned her attention back to her older brother.
"... I want to see Yesi."
Jensen nodded and helped Arisa sit up, "I'll take you."
"I still don't want to see him." said Arisa. "I know you were hoping I forgot about him being with her. So, I'll go see her when he leaves."
"He stays in the hospital day and night. Good luck with that."
"You haven't talked to him either." Arisa said.
"What?"
"You didn't try convincing me to let him know I was awake. You would've done so if you weren't trying to ignore the guy too."
"Sometimes I hate when you can actually use your brain."
"Wow! The audacity you have to insult me like that. You should be a–"
"She's awake!" A grinning Jaxon threw the door open, surprised to see his youngest conscious. "Ari–"
"Get out." the death glare the detective received from Arisa made his heart ache.
"You too, huh?" Jaxon said softly with a small chuckle. "Yesi kicked me out too as soon as she realized I was in the room. Even called me a lying filthy coward."
"Yeah?" Jensen scoffed. "Tell it to somebody that would care."
"Listen, I know you guys are mad–"
"Mad?" Jensen laughed. "Why would we mad? You're not even close. Pissed would be the proper word to use."
"Guys–"
"Three fucking years." Arisa hissed. "For three fucking years we believed our mother was fucking dead. Because you told us she was! You told us you tried so hard to save her!"
"What else did you lie about Jaxon?" The white-haired male growled. "Do you know how shitty we felt? Knowing we could've saved her, but we even failed at that."
Before Jaxon could answer, he was cut off by Arisa.
"I'm gonna go see Yesi." She tried getting on her feet, only to fall to the ground.
"Ari!" Both her dad and brother ended up besides her, helping her get back on her feet.
"I'm fine!"
The bluenette once again tried to stand on her own, only to end up back on the ground.
"What's going on?" In that same moment Kaminari walked in with All Might, Mina, and Todoroki behind him, a tired-looking Yesi staring worriedly at her younger sister from her spot in a wheelchair.
"Get the nurse!" Jensen shouted over the loud ruckus everyone else in the room was causing.
"What's going on here?" the doctor questioned calmly as he hurriedly made his way into the room with a nurse and Todoroki trailing behind him.
"Sir, you're the expert." Kaminari answered. "Hence why we called you."
"Get her on the bed."
Jaxon easily picked up the bluenette and carefully placed her on the uncomfortable bed.
"Arisa, do you feel this?" The doctor tapped her foot with his pen, raising his glance towards the teenager.
"Feel what?" Arisa was quick to sit up, her eyes glancing at every person in the hospital. They all held worried or shocked expressions.
"This is what I was worried about." the doctor sighed softly before drifting his attention to Jaxon. "The rod grazed her spinal cord. We'll have to take another x-ray scan to know how big the damage is."
And as if that situation wasn't bad enough, Yesi started coughing violently, the red substance dirtying her hand and clothes.
