chapter twenty-seven
m e l l o wA once inferno of blue flames was easily put out, the vapor that filled the area slowly starting to clear out.
The blue-flamed villain chuckled, his eyes glaring at the still-weakened hero, "You just won't drop dead, huh? You're becoming a pest."
"No, you can't fight in this condition," Jaxon was quick to firmly intervene, jumping back after Shigaraki tried to catch him off guard. "Fuck, you're annoying."
"I'm in pain." She truthfully stated. "But I'm a hero. My job is to save people. I have to be a hero. Like you. Like mom."
Jaxon hesitated. He understood how she felt. He felt the same way. He wanted to protect her, but he also wanted to respect her. He knew she was a hero, and he couldn't stop her from being one.
He sighed and nodded, "Alright. Fine. Just promise me you're gonna be careful. Do you understand?" he said.
His oldest daughter tsked but nodded.
Yesi used her wind to blow away the remaining of the fire, and created an opening to attack. She then used her water to extinguish the flames, and created her Water Spikes to throw at Dabi.
Dabi growled, and glared at them, "You're wasting your time. You can't stop us. You can't stop our revolution. We're going to burn this world to ashes, and create a new one. A world without heroes. A world without Endeavor and all losers like him!" Dabi cackled manically.
He raised his hand, and unleashed a massive blast of flames at them.
Jaxon and Yesi reacted quickly, and used their quirks to protect themselves. Jaxon created a lightning barrier that resembled a prison cell, and Yesi created a water shield. They blocked the flames, but it was too strong. It pushed them back, and cracked their defenses.
They felt the heat, and the pain. They gritted their teeth, "What'd made you think your lightning was gonna work?" Yesi grunted.
Jaxon turned to look at her, "Bitch, I'm just not trynna die. Your shitty water shield didn't work either so..."
They pushed back, and increased their power. They strengthened their lightning and water, noticing the irritating look on Dabi as his flames were slowly diminishing.
From the corner of their eye, the Armani duo saw a green blur, moving fast. They saw a fist, glowing with power— they saw the look of stupid on Dabi's face which made them smirk and snicker.
And then they saw him fly back— Deku's punch being a little over twenty percent; which of course, resulted in him falling off the building.
"Ah shit!" Yesi and Deku panicked, not wanting to get in trouble for accidentally killing a dangerous villain.
"Oh!" Jaxon hissed nonchalantly. "Y'all killed him!"
"I wish." Yesi scoffed once realizing Dabi fell through Kurogiri's warp.
Their fight had come to an end— at least for now. The Armani family were back in the sisters' shared room, the teen girl and her sister wide awake as they watched their father and brother argue.
"Oh for fuck's sake, Jensen!" Jaxon yelled angrily. "Be fucking for real right now! Please!"
"You had a choice!" Jensen shouted back. "Yesi and I were here! We could've helped!"
