Chapter 31

"Thank you everyone for attending to the Leaf Village's chunin exams. We will now begin the third exam." The Hokage said. The only one missing right now is Sasuke.

"This is weird.....knowing his character, he should be here even if he needs to drag himself." Akiko said.

"Now then, the first two. Neji Hyuga and Naruto Uzumaki. The rest of you may leave to a waiting room" The proctor said as the rest began to leave

"Is there anything you would like to say?" Neji asked.

"I've said it before....I'll win, no matter what!" Naruto said as Neji activated his byakugan.

"I look forward to see you disappointment." Neji said and got into his stance. Dust swirled around the two as the wind blew.

"Let's get started then!"

"Now then, may the first round, begin!"

Well, since I don't want to explain it and whatsoever but some people want me to explain it so, I'll brief it out.

Basically Naruto beats Neji by outsmarting him, activating a bit of the Kyuubi's chakra.

---------- After Shikamaru's match which Shikamaru gave up at.

"At last, it is the Uchiha's match but oh, who's this opponent Gaara?" Said the proctor as the village members chattered and muttered louldy.

Sasuke.....come on! Akiko thought. She also didn't want to miss this match.

After another 10 minutes, the wind blew as Sasuke appeared with Kakashi in the middle in the arena.

"See....Here he is.." Gaara said, glaring at Sasuke. What a grand entrance.

"Heh, you're late Sasuke! I thought you were scared!" Naruto yelled at Sasuke. Sasuke smirked.

"Of course not."

Gaara walked down to battlefield.

"So now....at last.....let the match begin."

Gaara's sand came out of the gourd. He then clutched his head in pain, why was it in pain? The sand rumbled around him as he stared at Sasuke. Sasuke pulled out a kunai and threw it at him. Another Gaara then appeared and blocked the attacks from Sasuke. Sasuke then tried to punch Gaara, but faked it. Swiftly moving behind him, just like Lee. To be able to move fastly to the speed that the san couldn't keep up. Sasuke threw a punch at Gaara as he flew a few feet away.

"Come on." Sasuke said. He has definitely grew a lot more cockier.

Sasuke ran towards Gaara, sharply dodging the sand, and once more, then kicking Gaara in the stomach.

"What's the matter, is that it?" Sasuke said and got back in posture.

"I'll break that Armor of yours." Yep, he has deficiently grew more cockier. He ran towards Gaara and ran in circle. His speed was just like Lee's. He then moved towards Gaara and kicked him. Holding onto his cloth, Sasuke pulled Gaara forward and kicked him once more. Then another. The sand armor began to slowly fall apart and crack. Gaara made a single hand sign as sand began to shape like a dome to protect its host. Sasuke ran towards Gaara who only left a gap so his left eye could see. He ran faster as Sasuke punched the gap, but was stopped at the sand turned into spikes. He jumped back as he started bleeding.

"So it's absolute protection...." Sasuke said. The sand has incredibly hardened. The spikes has pierced his legs and other parts. An eye made out of sand appeared as god-knows-what Gaara is doing in that dome. An sinister smile spreaded across Gaara's face.

No way...! He's using that jutsu! Temari thought.

Sasuke ran once more again at Gaara's dome, throwing kunai's at it and jumping up and flipping over behind the dome. He punched the dome once more as spikes came out and reached for Sasuke. Sasuke held his hand up.

"I wasn't late for nothing." He jumped up and slid on the arena's walk, sticking onto it with chakra as he performed hand signs. He held his hands down. Sparks of lightning came out of his arms.

"D-don't tell me......this is.." Guy Sensei said. Sasuke ran down once again as the ball of lighting held immense chakra. the concrete and earth left a large trail as Sasuke ran. The lightning ball in his hands sparked.

"The top secret technique used for assassinations and the original made by non other than himself, Kakashi the copy ninja..." Sasuke headed for the dome, dodging the spikes as he yelled as the lightning ball in his hands finally made its way through the dome.

"Chidori!" Sasuke yelled. The ball pierced through the dome as the spectators gasped.

"Chidori, also known as lightning blade. A technique that needs to comprehend speed so that the amount of chakra in it doesn't disappear. Wow....." Guy explained to the others. (Sakura, Lee, Ino, Choji who was watching from above.)

"I caught you...!" Sasuke said. Gaara shook as he shook.

"B-Blood! MY BLOOD!!!" Gaara screamed. Unable to take his hand out, Sasuke activated the chidori once again as Gaara screamed louder. Akiko grasped her heart. This was painful to watch. Sasuke pulled his hands out as another hand reached for him. But this other hand was not normal. It was Shukaku's arm.

Sasuke slid back as the arm slithered back in. It left a hole in the dome as it became quiet. Sasuke sweated as a low growl came out of the hole. An eye looked out as the growl got louder. Sasuke widened his eyes as so did the spectators who was watching. The dome began to crack as it became soft sand once again, revealing Gaara who panted heavily, holding his injured shoulder which bled. Feathers began to fall as Akiko noticed immediately.

"Release!" She yelled as the feathers started to disappear. A loud bang was heard from where the Hokage was as Akiko looked up.

"Infiltration..!" She said. She sprinted quickly to where Kakashi Sensei and Guy was. Anbu black ops began to run from where the Hokage was.

"Sakura!" She yelled. Sakura who wasn't asleep was shocked.

"Akiko!" Sakura yelled.

"What's going on..?!" Sasuke said as he turned around to see Temari, Kankuro and Gaara. Temari tried to hold back Gaara who wanted to kill Sasuke.

"There's no point to fight!"

"Out of my way!" Gaara clutched his head in pain.

"Kakashi, look inside the barrier!" Guy said. The four looked at the Barrier.

"Orochimaru!" Akiko and Sakura yelled. Akiko looked at the Arena which both Sasuke and Gaara wasn't at. 2 sound nins tried to attack as Akiko protected Sakura and Kakashi sliced them.

"You guys stay here for a while, the jonins will reduce a bit of enemies." Kakashi said. Sounds of kunais clashing rang.

"Right now, all we can do is trust the Hokage." Akiko said to Sakura who was slightly shaking. Akiko looked around at the others who were sleeping, Ino and Choji being next to her and Choji. She blocked a kunai who was coming at her and Sakura.

"You two have the best release on Genjutsu. Release the Naruto and Shikamaru's genjutsu." Kakashi said.

"Naruto will be so delighted by this mission." Kakashi said.

"Mission?"

"It's the first A rank mission since the land of the waves." Kakashi said.
