Yuuri held up his silver medal to his coach. It wasn't gold, but Yuuri worked his everloving ass off just to hold it.
"Hm, I wanted to kiss gold," Viktor said simply.
Yuuri's head tilted. Not even a congratulations? Sure, he wasn't in first place, but second was damn good too.
"I would have gotten gold," Viktor said with a harsh smirk, "but, well, to put it simply, you aren't me."
What is he saying? Does he think I'm not good enough? Yuuri thought to himself.
"I really tried Viktor, I'm sorry I didn't place first."
Viktor seemed to almost growl at this.
"You should be damn sorry you didn't place first, Yuuri. I've been training you for what? How long now? Yet you didn't even win in the end. Disappointing, Yuuri. Really."
Yuuri felt tears trickle at his eyes, was Viktor really thinking he was a disappointment?
"I-I'll get good next year. I promise, " Yuuri whispered back, his voice somehow escaping him.
"I doubt it. I'm competing next year, and it'll be a cold day in hell when I coach you again," Viktor snarled at Yuuri, his nose crinkling up as he through out the insult.
"You aren't my coach anymore?" Yuuri asked, quieter than last time.
"No. Never again will I make such a stupid mistake."
Viktor turned around quickly, his long coat swishing behind him, as he began to walk away.
"Viktor! Wait! Please, give me another chance, " Yuuri pleaded. He fell in love with a different Viktor. The nice one. Yet the one he loved was nowhere in sight, as an evil being posing as his fiancé took its place.
"As if. Here, take this peace of shit ring back, too. Cheapest thing I've seen to date."
Yuuri watched as Viktor through his ring on the floor, tears blurring his vision as the flowed down his face.
"T-that wasn't cheap.." Yuuri whined as he scrambled to pick the ring off the floor.
"Yeah? Well you are a cheap excuse for a human being. See you next year, Yuuri, if you even make it to the GPF. I'll make sure you won't."
Yuuri's legs gave out on him, he collapsed on his knees and was forced to watch the love of his life walk away from him, out of sheer disappointment.
Why..
Viktor..
Why?
—————
"Viktor... please, come back.." Yuuri whined as he rolled around on the bed, bumping into Viktor at his side, waking him up.
"Yuuri?" Viktor asked sleepily, rubbing his eyes. He looked down to his fiancé next to him, now seeing the state his love was in.
Tears running down his face, staining his pillow. His shivering body, his distressed look.
He was having a nightmare.
Viktor quickly shook the boy awake. He hates when Yuuri had nightmares. Even if he was just dreaming about a spider he found in the kitchen or something. Yuuri deserved no pain. None.
That's what Viktor believed.
Yuuri's eyes opened fast, before locking onto Viktor's.
Before he even registered where he was, what his surroundings were, he gripped onto Viktor into a bone-crushing hug.
"Please. I'm sorry I didn't win gold. I'll do it next year. Please. Don't leave me, Viktor."
Viktor watched in awe as he saw his love quiver against him.
Yuuri dreamed of Viktor leaving him?
"I wouldn't dream of it, love. See? This means I'm with you forever," He said, then showed Yuuri the engagement ring that sat on his finger.
Yuuri pulled back to look at what Viktor was showing him, before looking at the ring confusingly.
"What? But. You threw..." Yuuri trailed off before looking in his hands, obviously thinking he was holding something.
"Yuuri, none of that was real. It was just a dream," Viktor told Yuuri with a sweet, but sleepy smile.
"So.. you won't leave me?" Yuuri asked, tears brimming to his eyes again.
"Never ever."
Yuuri began sobbing and clutched onto Viktor once again.
"Love.. why are you crying?" Viktor asked while rubbing his eyes once more.
"I'm just so happy it wasn't real. I thought.. I really thought.."
Yuuri broke off once again, before looking at Viktor sweetly.
"I love you, Viktor," Yuuri whispered to his soon-to-be husband.
"Love you more, мое золото."
The translation to that last part is "My Gold." Though that's just what google translate said. If this is incorrect, please let me know so I can fix it!
