Chapter 23

I opened the door to see Lia standing there with a U-HAUL truck in the background. I immediately jump into her arms and hug her for the longest time ever. I missed her so much.
"I missed you so much" i said as I got down
"I missed you even more" she answered
"so what brought you here" i asked
"A bestfriend and a job" she said
"No way. You got a job?!" I asked
I was kind of jealous because I've always wanted a job but, stupid online school gets in the way plus the girls.
"Yep, I got a job as a photographer" she says smiling
"Awh. I'm happy for you" i said
We talked for a while. Then she had to go but, I'm pretty sure she was coming tomorrow. Later on I got a phone call while Nash and I were snuggling on the couch at 2:00am. I had no clue what the number was so i thought they probably have a different time zone. I just ignored it the first time then they called again so I picked it up. This unfamiliar voice was talking through the phone.
"Hello?" I said
"Hi, is this Autumn Smith?" The woman said
"Yes this is. And who are you" as my heart was practically coming out of chest because it sounded serious
"Im Cassandra Loski" she said "i work for the child custody program" she added
"Oh really?" I say
"Yes ma'am and we are suppose to be coming tomorrow to pick up McCallie Smith, Colby Smith, and Skylynn Floyd"
"Uhm you really can't take these kids their perfectly fine here with me" i say as tears began to form my eyes
"No. That's not how the law goes. We have to bring them to your Aunt and Uncles house in Michigan" she said getting a little fusterated
"Please don't do this." I started crying harder
And all i here after that is a line that has been disconnected. This means I probably can't ever see them again...
I began to slowly pack their bags with Nash after i told him the news. Nash went to go wake everyone up. And say their goodbyes because by the time we'd be done they'd be gone. We told everyone and I don't think McCallie or Sky understood but, Colby did. Colby cried and couldn't detach herself of me. McCallie and Sky thought it was just a vacation. Olivia must have been old enough to stay because they never said anything about her. We were all done packing 5:30am. And I have no idea when these people are coming or how they figured it out. Time passed so quickly that a small black car pulled in. Tears ran down my face. A woman who was tall and thin with blonde hair in a bun and black man who looked pretty scary came to our door. They showed us their badges. I hugged every single one of them. I probably soaked them with tears. The man and woman were packing their bags in the car. Nash, me, Hayes, and Olivia walked them out to the car. I watched them get into the car while Nash was hugging me so tight that I couldn't get out of his grip. Before I knew i saw the driving off 10,000 miles away from me.
