Eloise

Halloween.

That one night a year when every teen throws a party and gets drunk off their overly alcoholic beverage and doesn't remember a singular moment from that night. This holiday has never been a favourite in my books. It held the memories of my childhood when I was never allowed to dress up and go door to door using the famous saying to get a piece of candy to add to my pillowcase.

My dad never allowed us to be kids for one night and insisted on turning all the lights off. Yes, we were one of those houses that never gave out candy and I hated being known for that when I'd be at school the next day since kids at a young age held a grudge against small things just like that.

Finding a costume for this party was harder than it seemed.

I was still unpacking and hardly had anything to provide a great costume until my eyes landed on a red dress.

The Woman In Red.

Simple as is and all I needed was a black belt and red shoes. Although my hair wasn't dark this was the only thing that I could find in a short amount of time. Tina's party wasn't until later on in the evening which allowed me and sadly Billy to get ready by the time we wanted to leave.

"Hey Blondie, you ready or not?" The annoyance in Billy's tone as he entered my room had me rolling my eyes and turning around. Scoffing at my costume he looked up and down from the red dress to the red shoes on my feet. "What the hell are you supposed to be?"

"Charlotte from Lady in Red." I throw my arms down to my side as I lift my right hand to sit on my hip. "And what are you supposed to be? An asshole who thought it was funny to try and run over some kids on their bikes? Didn't know they sold those at the store." As sarcastic as I could be I made my way through my bedroom door shoving him out of the way.

"Oh come on," he dragged "Those little shits should've been on the other side of the road anyway."

I shake my head "But instead you drove them off of the road. How fucked up is that?" cocking a brow at my asshole of a brother he rubs the bottom of his lip scoffing "Well they saw it coming."

Walking out the front door and shutting it behind me we walked towards the car I mentioned that almost ran those three boys over this afternoon. "Those were her friends Billy. You can't make her life a living hell just because she's decided to start her life up and you just always have to go and ruin it." Slamming his door shut he starts the car pushing his keys into the ignition and letting the horrible music fall throughout the vehicle making it unbearable to hear or focus on anything else.

I gripped my seat tightly as his driving horrified me.

Tonight was already starting off to a horrible start and I can tell it's only going to get worse from here.

The music blared throughout Tina's household filled with drunken teens and couples sucking each other's faces off whilst they danced. Tonight I wanted to try and socialize and make myself known around this group of teens that I'll be going to school with until I graduate.

It's been two painfully long hours of sitting on this couch sipping on whatever this, and I quote, "Pure Fule" was in my red solo cup. I could care less about what this party I came to intended to be but all I wanted to do was go home and go to bed. Watching my brother on the back patio of Tina's house doing a keg stand and being held up by multiple guys. Rolling my eyes to the back of my head I stood up leaving my disgustingly, warm, alcoholic beverage on the side table never returning to it deciding that it was time to walk myself home.
