Eloise

Pulling up to the Wheeler's house after school was not something I thought I'd be doing during my first week here in Hawkins alongside Steve Harrington who was currently going over the words of preparation to apologize to his girlfriend. "You think saying all this will get her back?" I shrug my shoulders with a small smile as I handed the small bouquet of red roses to him "It's better than nothing. Now go over it one more time."

"Listen, I've been thinking... that this is so stupid and I shouldn't be the one apologizing." Rolling my eyes at the boy who sidetracked his speech he worked ever so hard on, well more so side helped as I wrote it all down since saying you're an idiot whose hair is bigger than his brain didn't work so well for this kind of apology. Pulling his sun visor down he started touching up the mop of hair that sat ever so nicely on the top of his head as if it wasn't already perfectly fine. "You're stalling." He scoffs and puts the sun visor back up "I am not," he opens the car door "Watch and learn my skills Hargrove you might need them one day." with that he shuts the door and begins his way towards the home and touching his hair as I watched him talk to himself over and over again until he was interrupted by a familiar young boy with the blue, white, and red baseball cap.

Snatching the flowers out of Steves's hands he began his way over towards the car. I open the door and step out resting my arm on it. "It's you again! This will be even greater." he hands me the flowers right before opening the backseat door "I'm Dustin and you are?"

"Eloise." He gave me a bright smile as he looked back to the confused-looking Steve. "I'm sorry to interrupt your love life battles but what we're about to do is way bigger than that." As he began entering the car he paused and stood back up "Do you still have that bat?" he questioned "Bat? What bat?"

He looked at me and back to Steve "The one with the nails?"

"Nails?" I whisper to myself confused by the conversation between the two boys lingered.

Confusion plastered all over Steve's face as his head rushed with many questions about this certain bat Dustin had been talking about "Um, why?" we both looked at the young boy who now began to sit in the backseat "I'll explain it to you on the way back to my house."

"Your house?" Steve asked while he walked back to his car "Yes, now can we please hurry it's important and I need as much help as possible."

"Now?" he began to jog up the hill back to the driver's side as he entered and started his car "Yes, now!"

Dang, this kid has a small temper "Didn't know I signed up for a tour of Hawkins today." Steve laughed as he pulled away from the Wheeler's household. "Yeah, tell me about it."

The ride back to Steve's home was silent as no one talked to one another allowing the radio to play an abundant amount of songs before we pulled into the driveway of his home. "You two stay here, I'll be back."

I reached over and turned the radio down enough that it played quietly in the background. "So what are we doing exactly?" I twist my body to face the young boy who held onto his walkie. "It's kind of hard to explain what it's all about."

I squint my brows together "You get yourself into a fight or something and need hair boy to scare him off with his scary bat?" I joked making myself chuckle while Dustin raised his left hand giving me the finger "Okay, relax I was only kidding."
