UA: First Person Perspective- Izuku
I walked out of UA's main entrance as I sighed. After the quirk test I had gone to Recovery Girl's office, and now I was spent.
She was nice and all, after hitting me over the head with her cane, but her healing had a downside.
After her kiss of rejuvenation, the person who was was given said kiss needs a lot of stamina. The recovery itself leaves a tried and sore person in its wake.
For the rest of the day I had been excused from anything else that might of happen in class. Seeing I was laying in Recovery Girl's office sore and tried no one mind me missing out on introduction from the teachers.
"Midoriya" a hand was placed on my shoulder
I flinched and wiped around to see Ida. If I hadn't been so tried and lazy I would of flipped him over my shoulder for catching me off guard.
"Is your finger okay."
"I-It's fine."
"I'm glad, anyway sensei sure fooled us today."
"What do you mean?"
"That's right you weren't there at the end when we were given back the results." Ida said as we stood outside. He put a hand to his chin and continued. "He tricked us into believing that the person with the lowest score would be kicked out but he lied. It was just to push us to do our best."
I nodded, "I mean that makes sense..."
It makes sense if you don't know his record as a teacher. He expelled his whole class last year because "they didn't have potential". I can't argue with that cause some people aren't mentally fit for the job of hero but still.
"Hey!"
Me and Ida turned to Uraraka running towards us.
"You two," she reached where me and Ida were standing, "Tenya Ida and Midoriya... Deku."
"DEKU." I yelled in alarm
"Well yeah, during the test that Bakugo guy said your name was 'Deku', and I kinda forgot what you told me your first name was."
"N-n-nonono, my real name is Izuku. Deku is just a name Kacchan gave me when we were little. It's suppose to mean useless." I waved my hands in front of me fiercely.
Why was I acting so strange, I'm never like this. My face was hot, I was talking really fast, and I coundn't look Uraraka in the eye. I knew I was bad with human interaction but was I really this bad.
"So it's a derogatory pet name?" Ida said
"Oh sorry. I thought it meant 'you can do it'. It sounded kind of cute." Uraraka apologized
My face felt hotter as I looked at her rubbing the back of her head.
"Deku's fine. I haven't been called it in years anyway so it's not that much of a insult anymore."
"Midoriya! Have you no pride. It's meant as a insult you can't just let people call you that."
I looked at him blankly as we started walking. He was taken back a bit by this but shook his head.
Maybe he had remembered when he called me out at the entrance exam. I did have pride, I just only showed it when I wanted to but his wanting for me to stand up for myself felt nice.
"It's fine Ida. I like it better this way."
My expression then went none existent but the two chatting beside me didn't notice. Was I talking about the old nickname or was I talking about something else...
