All he could do was try to help calm everyone around him.

It was chaos, and everyone stood on edge, waiting for a doomed call to tell them that the Neverseen had won and that Sophie's group was killed, or hurt, or captive.

He fought his way through the crowd, trying to find Rex and Bex, wanting to have their comfort as they waited.

His legs shook and with all the people, it took him what felt like an hour, but was probably only half of that.

Lex knew that his mom had probably wandered off to hail the rest of the Collective, while his dad might've accompanied her.

Rex was pale faced when Lex found him, and later, Bex was really sweaty.

It was gross, but so not the moment to judge her for that right now.

Lex - the youngest of the triplets - stood in the middle. He gripped Rex and Bex's hands and the three of them squeezed each other so tightly, he thought his own hands would fall off.

Bex stood with a girl. Eliora, if Lex remembered correctly. He noticed that they were holding hands, too.

He couldn't tell if that was simply for comfort, or . . . something more. If it was in the way he wondered, he couldn't help but be happy for Bex.

Bex gave her brothers a nervous smile, something new dawning in her eyes, though he wasn't sure why.

It was a while before a shaky voice - it sounded like Grady Reuwen - finally called out, "They're okay. They're okay. They're alive. There's a lot of confusion right now, but . . . it's all over. The Neverseen are gone."
