The girl in the group is the first to greet me.
"Hey, I'm Selena. Who are you?" She asked.
"Erica. Apparently we're roommates."
"Oh! How nice!" Selena said, thrusting her hand forward for me to shake. I shook it, then looked to the two boys behind her.
The taller one said,"I'm Jacob, but people call me Jake."
The other one said,"I'm Charlie."
"Hi Jake, hi Charlie." I said. They both seemed to be a bit gloomy.
Selena asked them, with a bit of force,"Why the long faces?"
Jake said,"I wanted to be a fire elemental, but I'm earth.
Charlie said, "I wanted to be air, but I'm water!"
Selena, totally disregarding their gloominess, said brightly," What's the room like?"
"You'll see." I said. I lead her to our door.
She turned the nob, and looked around. "Marvelous!" She exclaimed. Selena jumped on the orange bed. " I suppose this is mine. I am fire."
"Ok." I sit down on the white bed.
"Well," Selena said,"I ought to get to know you. Let's play twenty questions."
"What?"
"Twenty questions! Haven't you heard of it? I get to ask you any twenty questions, and you get to ask me any twenty questions. You can ask first."
"Umm... okay. Number one... What's your favorite color?"
"Orange, of course. Now me. Number one. How old are you?"
"I am thirteen, aren't you?"
"Yeah."
"Number two. Did you get the element you wanted to?"
"Yeah, pretty much. Number two. Did you?"
"I really didn't even think about it."
This went on for awhile, and then we put on pajamas and went to bed.
I had a new friend.
