Elijah's POV
Yay, it's finally October 30th. I and Katherine had gone to our local store to come up with some Halloween costumes, I wanted to do something that was femme fatale, but with a twist, because ya know, I'm a guy. Katherine on the other hand is kind of just off, in her own world, not really paying attention to what's going on.

Kat has always been a little bit mysterious ever since I've met her, but, I am the same, so I guess we are rocking in the same boat. Though, something about Kat has always peeked a bit of interest in me.

I found a cute pair of angel wings and a halo, and so, you guessed it, I will be going as an angel who will never make it to heaven. And now Kat, on the other hand, is just rummaging through some of the clothing racks and is not showing interest. 

While I was grabbing the stuff, I found a pair of devil wings, spear, and horns. And that my friends, is how I got the idea of Kat going as a devil. Truly though, it should be the other way around. But, we are going to go yin and yang.

I picked out my stuff, grabbing a mesh top, a halo, white jeans, and some cheap makeup I found in the dollar section. You could say I know a little bit about makeup because I do. Yeah, I guess you could say I have some experience as I lived in California.

Thankfully, Kat agreed to go as a devil, and her attitude peaked up. I'm glad about that. It sucks seeing Kat down some of the time. I want to know why, but then again, I would have to tell her why I'm really in this town.

"Kat, are you sure you want to go?" I asked, not wanting her to feel uncomfortable at a Halloween party.

"Yeaaah!" She said almost sarcastically, but she seemed thrilled. I won't push her anymore, so I dropped it, grabbed everything I needed, and headed towards check out.

And then, of course, you won't be surprised, Christopher was now my cashier! I thought he literally only played sports, but I guess you gotta have money for something to pay for.

My face turned red, but I made sure it wasn't noticeable. Thankfully Kat noticed my tomato face and went in front of me to distract him from my beet red face. Thank you, Kat.

"You know, Hale, we literally sleep in the same dorm together? You don't have to avoid me every time we meet outside the dorm? I mean, you're literally going to a Halloween party I invited you to!" He groaned.

"Yeah, "Chrissy". I know. Maybe I just don't feel like making conversation?" I let out, a little irritated. And yeah, Christopher, your new nickname is Chrissy since you want to use my last name to address me.

"Chrissy?" He asked, dumbfounded.

I chuckled, "Maybe you shouldn't use my last name to address me? It's "Elijah". Not "Hale", I rolled my eyes and shifted my attention towards Katherine, "Let's go, please" I mouthed to her.

"You know, Hale, I could read lips, especially yours."I blankly looked at Christopher, with a little bit of irritation and anxiousness. Though, why would I be anxious?

Kat snapped me out of my thoughts as Christopher gave us our bags full of stuff for the Halloween party. What the fuck? I said, but not out loud.

We were finally out of that dreaded store, I mean, ever since I saw Christopher as the cashier, I might as well just not even go here anymore! The gas station will do just fine!
