1: With You

I picked up the phone.

"Hello." I say.

"Hi. Is this Miss Lucy Heartfilia?" The female voice said.

"Yes. Speaking?" I reply.

"This is Lydia McCorville from the Hargeon Prison."

NATSU P.O.V

Luce and I had been watching TV together and the phone started ringing so she went and got it. That was around 10 minutes ago. Where was she?
It doesn't normally take her that long when her favourite TV show is on..

I walked into the hallway and Luce was standing there, face pale as a ghost.
She was shaking and the phone was on the floor.

I ran over to her.

"Luce! Luce! Are you okay?" I say gently shaking her.

"It's him... M-My Father. He's escaped from prison."

(Now imagine Italics have stopped here -_-;)

LUCY P.O.V

It's been 3 months since I got the call that my Dad escaped from prison. He still hasn't been found. Everyday I was getting more terrified and terrified. I was so close to a mental break down. They only thing holding me together was Natsu. He was like the glue keeping all my shattered pieces together.
Natsu has stayed by my side since the start. I don't know what I'd do without him. Die maybe?

Ever since a few days after Jude had broke out, I had been getting envelopes, emails and texts from blocked numbers. They were threats. Some said, "Hand yourself over or I'll have to do it myself.", "Show these to the police and Natsu will pay." and more like that. They were from my Father. I'm sure of it. It was as if he was everywhere, watching my every move. I was too scared to leave the house and eventually we moved somewhere else, changed our numbers, email addresses but he still managed to get to me.

It eventually got to the point where he constantly sent threats like, "Give up Natsu and I'll stop." and I wouldn't show them to Natsu. I'm scared that if I did, he would give himself up to protect me, so I just burn or delete them.

My phone buzzed. My hand was shaking as I picked it up. I unlocked my phone and went to messages.

Another blocked number.

The message read, "Hand yourself over, or Igneel dies."

My Father had Igneel? How? Why? But I thought he'd left.

Should I tell Natsu? No. He would go crazy. I don't know what would happen. I can't let him kill Igneel. No matter what. I would not let Natsu's father die because of me.

It was getting late.

"Natsu?" I said quietly to the salmon-haired boy that was staring out to nowhere, frowning.

"Natsu...." I say again quietly.

"Hmmm?" He said raising his eyebrows.

"I'm tired. Can we go to sleep now?" I ask fake yawning.

He turned to look at me, dark bags under his eyes from sleepless nights.

"Sure...." He said standing up. I took his hand and helped him upstairs. He was slightly staggering due to lack of sleep.

When we got to the room, I gently pushed the door open and lay down on the bed.
I patted the bed beside me and he shook his head.

"Natsu! You need to sleep!" I say sternly.

"I'm fine. I'm not tired." He said.

"Natsu, Please...." I pleaded.

He shook his head again.

"Will you at least lay with me?" I ask, puppy dog eyes.

He sighed but lay with me. I wrapped my arm around his stomach and he put his arm around my waist.

He needed sleep. I knew exactly the trick. I hummed the tuned to a song he used to whistle when this all started. But as the problem dragged on, his positivity vanished, as did the song.

"You are my sunshine,

My only sunshine.

You make me happy,

When skies are grey.

You never know dear,

How much I love you.

So please don't take,

My sunshine,

Away."

I hummed until I could hear the gentle sound of his snore.

I quickly pulled my phone from beneath my pillow and did something I thought I'd never do.

"How do I find you?" I texted the blocked number.

After a few minutes it buzzed.

"You don't. I find you." They replied.

"So what do I do, if I want to save him?" ~ Lucy.

"All you have to do, is sleep. I'll get the rest." ~ Unknown.

I shut my phone off. So they'll get me in my sleep? What if I pretend I'm sleeping and surprise them?

I take the knife from the bedside cabinet that Natsu insisted go there and put it beneath my pillow.

Now all I have to do is pretend I'm asleep. I close my eyes and breath heavier, to make it believable.

From lack of sleep I begin to drift off without realising it, until I'm in a deep sleep...
