when Cheryl woke up that morning the dorm was empty. toni's clothes were thrown onto the middle of the floor and her bed wasn't made. Cheryl was starting to figure the girl wasn't very lady like.

Cheryl however got up and grabbed clothes and a towel so she could go take a shower in the women's dorm showers. she decided for her outfit she wanted to wear washed denim jeans, a pink turtle neck, and her white converses. grabbing her stuff she headed towards the shower.

as she neared the showers a quiet murmur started to be known. she stayed quiet as she got closer.

"no dad i swear this school is 100% safe for me. no i don't need you and mom to move down here. i love you too bye." she heard a feminine voice say. when Cheryl entered the showers she saw a Latina girl holding a mobile phone. cheryl's eyes widened.

"is that a mobile phone?" cheryl said in shock she had only read about those in the paper.

"yes it is, it's a Motorola 8000X" the latina said triumphantly.

"those things cost a fortune." cheryl said shocked.

"my father owns the company." the girl said with a sigh "i'm veronica lodge, i'm a freshmen." she waved politely.

"nice to meet you i'm Cheryl, and me too. my roommate is a junior and she's driving me insane."

"so we're both in this together, mines named betty and apparently she's throwing a party tonight at some ware house. she left her panties on the floor" veronica scrunched her nose in disgust. cheryl chuckled and nodded.

"i'm going to the party, you should come with so i don't have to go through it alone" cheryl offered.

"you think it'd be fun? my dad never let me go to high school parties." veronica said innocently.

"i have no clue, only one way to find out? are you down?" cheryl asked hopefully.

veronica took a second to answer before smiling and nodding her head yes. "what's your dorm number so i can come by with you"

"b14" cheryl answered.

"i'll be there at 9:50" veronica smiled and left the showers.

after cheryl's shower she headed back to her dorm. her hair was pulled back in a ponytail and her glasses rested on the bridge of her nose.

she opened the door to find toni at the window with it cracked open. there were towels close to the door and a strong odor of something cheryls never smelled before.

"fix the towels red." the normally honey like voice now raspy and worn.

cheryl didn't ask any questions and did what was told. that was a bad habit she had from her dad and brother. she then stuffed the towels at the crack at the bottom of the door. and looked back towards toni. smoke was coming from where she was but her back was turned.

"oh heavens are you like smoking meth" cheryl gasped out loud a hand covering her mouth.

Toni chuckled and looked over her shoulder. "no airhead it's cannabis"

"what's the difference." cheryl crossed her arms and tilted her head.

"one makes you tired happy and hungry and the other causes craters in your face." toni murmur quietly as she stared out the window.

"well they're both bad for you," cheryl said using her shirt as a mask to cover the odor.

"it doesn't smell that bad calm down." toni groaned asking out the last bit of what she had and flicking it out the window. the girl opened the window completely and flipped back on her bed.
