Chapter 8

It was next morning when Bondita did the Aarti with Kaka.
Kaka recalled the first day when Bondita recited prayers with him. He smiled looking behind in the time.

After completing the Aarti he saw Aniruddh coming out from his study. 'Ye aniruddh Study se kyu uth kar aa rha hai?' He thought in his mind.
'Lagta hai Aniruddh aur Bondita Bahu ne abhi bhi apne rishte ko pati patni ka naam nhi diya hai, hey Dugga Maa! Sad-budhdhi do hamare bachchon ko'
Bondita suddenly came in front of him and asked 'kya soch rhe hein aap Kaka Sasur Ji? Ye lijiye Prasad'
'Kuch nhi Bahu, bas Dugga Ma se is ghar ke liye khushiyaan maang rhe the' said Kaka while taking the Prasad.
'Kaka Sasur ji, aapki Bondita Bahu aagyi hein na, ab aapko kisi bhi baat ki chinta karne ki koi zarurat nahi hai' she said while keeping the thaal back in the mandir.
'Haan, Aniruddh toh ek number ka gadha hai! Humein Bahu se hi is baare mein baat karni chahiye, bahu sab sambhaal legi!
Aree bachchi nahi rahi hai ab Bahu, ab Samay badal chuka hai....Pariwaar ke prati apni zimmedaari samjhani hongi inhein, ghar ke bade beta-bahu hein. Sirf samaaj ke prati zimmedaariyaan nibhate rahenge kya zindagi bhar?' he murmured and thought to wait for the right time.

On the Breakfast Table:
'Aniruddh!!!!' Kaka said in hesitant tone.
Bondita who was serving the food looked towards him and Aniruddh too look towards Kaka after gesturing a smile and thank you to Bondita for serving him.
'Hum kyaa soch rhe the...' Kaka thought that he should use the hit & try method on Aniruddh first in order to know Bondita's opinion.
But he was distrubed by Som & Batuk who came running into the dining hall 'Main baithuga Boudi ke sath' said Batuk 'Main baithunga aur aaj unhein khana bhi sabse pehle hi khilaunga' 'itna hi shauq hain toh kuch bna bhi dete na Boudi ke liye, main ek chota sa kaam kya karne nikla aap usmein bhi taang ada rhe ho Dada! '
And they started fighting for the chair which was one chair away from Aniruddh's
'Kyaa hua??? Aise jaanwaron ki tarah, kyu lad rhe ho tum dono?' asked concerned Kaka.
Binoy ate another bite and then looked towards them adjusting his spectacles.
'Aree Da! Bachchein hein, fir kisi baat par jhagda kar rhe honge, aap kyu fiqr karte hein?' Said Binoy.
'Ye bachche hein? godhdhe ho gye hein! Hum toh kabse keh rhe hein Patniyaan le aao inki, lagaam kas ke rakhengi' said Kaka in rage.
'Ye kyaa keh rhe hein Kaka aap? Ladke aapas mein lad rhe hein toh patniyaan le aao, arreee is bachpane ke sath shadi ki zimmedaari saupna chahte hein aap in dono par?' Said Aniruddh in annoyed tone.
'Hey Bhagwaan! Is ghar mein jab tak khane ki maij (table) par bhuchaal na aa jaye, khana pura nhii hota! Na jane aaj konsa nya hungama hogaa??' Prayed Bihari in tension.
Bondita who was present in the scenario ordered keeping her hands on her ears 'Chup ho jaaiye Saare!
Then she lowered her voice after taking a breath & continued
'Pati Babu aur Kaka Sasur Ji aap dono bina baat ke behas kar rhe hein, nashta kijiye!
Somnath Dada, Batuk bataiye mujhe kya hua hai? '
Kaka was looking towards his nephews in order to receive a reply while Aniruddh just hitted his head with his palm.
Binoy continued with his food.
'Vo Boudi!!' Both Batuk & Som said together.
'Pehle main bolunga' 'pehle main'
They started arguing...
'Aree koi bhi bolo par bolo toh sahi' said Bondita
Som immediately uttered without giving chance to Batuk.
'Vo Boudi , tum inte dino baad aayi ho! Hum dono ne tumhare sath samay bhi nhi bitaya aur tumhe koi tohfa bhi nhii diya'
Batuk interrupted 'toh humne socha ki aaj hum aapko apne haathon se khana khilayenge'
Bondita smiled and said 'bas itni si baat?
Pati Babu, aap Sasur Ji ke sath jaakar baith jaayenge?' Asked Bondita.
'Aniruddh understood that he is gonna be sidelined between devar-Boudi trio & moved towards another side picking up his plate.
'Somnath Dada, aap yhaan baith jaaiye! Aur Batuk tum vhaan. Mai aap dono ke beech mein baith jaaungi fir sath khana khayenge hum'
Somnath immediately sat on the chair & so did Batuk. Bondita after serving them was about to make her own plate but both the brother-in-laws stopped her and said together 'Aaj hamari Bondita Boudi, hamari thali se khana khayengi'
Aniruddh was watching the trio having fun & was completely annoyed by Bondita that she isn't paying attention towards him.
Suddenly Bondita asked Aniruddh 'Pati Babu, aap bhi toh khilaye apne Bhaiyo ko'
'Kyu Batuk sirf Boudi ke sath pyaar batoge kya? Dada ko bhi toh khilao.' She said to Batuk.
Before Batuk could make a bite and get up to feed Aniruddh, Som immediately took a morsel and offered it to Aniruddh.
'Dada ka laadla Bhai toh mai hi hun Batuk.' Saying this Som forwarded it towards Aniruddh and Aniruddh immediately ate the bite offered by Som.
Batuk made a puppy face and Aniruddh immediately smiled looking towards him, 'Som mera laadla bhai zarur hai, lekin mere sabse pyaare bhai toh  tum hi ho na Batuk! Chalo khilao mujhe'
Batuk after listening this smiled brightly and fed Aniruddh a sondesh. (Mithai)
Mere khatte-meethe Dada ke liye unki pasandida Mithai.
'Achaaaa!' Aniruddh shrinked his eyes in fun.
Bondita admired the bond between RC brothers and thanked Dugga Maa.
Kaka also asked for blessings for his family.
