A Coup

Her sword swung down on a soliders neck, blood spurting everywhere as she freed her blade.

"Inside! We mustn't allow them to fortify the palace!"

She spoke at a normal volume but every one of her soliders heard her as if she spoke in their ear and surged forward towards the golden palace.

An arrow flew by, a mere inch from her face and met its target not three feet from her, burying it's self in the eye of one of the golden soliders of Asgard.

"He nearly had you Nait."

"I knew either you or Ratana would have my back, Sagira."

She turned back to see her youngest sister smiling at her as she lowered her bow.

Ciannait sheathed her sword for a moment, watching as their soliders crashed wave after wave against Asgards Einherjar, pushing them further into the palace, "Mightiest army in all the nine realms my ass."

Sagira giggled, her long light red brown hair blowing in the morning breeze as she drew next to her.

"True, I did think they would be tougher."

"The strongest of their foes we haven't even faced yet, so if you two are done gossiping like fish wives, let us finish this, before father becomes displeased with us. Their sorcerer has been giving me plenty of trouble."

Ratana appeared next to them in a pale blue glow, her cheek bleeding slightly.

"Daughters, come to me."

Njord's voice echoed in only her head, for her to relay the message to her sisters.

The pull was already beginning to press on her head, willing her to obey.

"Come on, Father wishes to see us."

She gritted her teeth, fighting the pull as her head began to pound.

Ratana and Sagira exchanged a quick worried glance, both of their amber eyes meeting, before they nodded and grabbed her arms, pulling her forward a few steps till her muscles unlocked and she let out a gasp.

"Why must you always do that Nait?"

Sagira reached up and stroked her her face, her eyes concerned.

"Cause I'm stubborn and I refuse to give that bastard the satisfaction of me obeying like some dog, even if it's only for a few seconds."

Ratana watched them, her cool features guarded.

"You know fighting it won't stop it. Just give in love. You'll be happier, we hate seeing you in pain."

She kissed Sagira's palm before she started leading them towards where Njord sat on his horse waiting over looking the battle.

"Father."

They all knelt in unison, "Ciannait, I want you to capture the princes, with your sisters help. They will be the last line of defense before the Allfather will fall."

The weight of his command fell on her, "Very well father, and if we encounter your sister Frigga?"

Njord considered her words coldly.

"Capture her if you can. She is my sister after all."

"Capture Frigga? The most fearsome shield maiden there has ever been?"

Nait closed her eyes, flinching as Sagira spoke to Njord unthinkingly.

Njord's icy glare landed on Sagira and she squirmed under the displeasure of his gaze, "Your sister is far more fearsome than Frigga shall ever be. Besides you know all your sister needs to do is merely touch them to bend them to my will. Surely the three of you can get her close enough for that?"

"Yes father. I am sorry father for doubting your plans."

Sagira stared at the ground as she spoke.

"I'll deal with you later. You have your instructions. Go!"

Njord hissed and urged his massive horse forward drawing his sword with a battle cry.

Ciannait sighed and returned to her horse, she paused for a brief moment before placing her healm on her head, covering her distinctive coppery locks.

"Ready Nait?"

Ratana and Sagira were behind her waiting, she turned, "First we'll tackle the older prince, I hear he's just a meat head who cares more about the hair on his head than his people, Ratana keep an eye out for their sorcerer, the younger prince is said to be a trickster, he maybe the sorcerer but there maybe another."

Her words deepened as they became commands echoing to her sisters, their eyes glazed over for a brief moment as her magic took over.

"Let us end this."

She gripped her sword with a grim sort of determination, and mounted the steps leading inside the great golden Palace of the Allfather, bodies littered the ground, more of the golden Einherjar then her own soliders she noted with sort of morbid pleasure.

A cacophonous clap of thunder drew their attentions, Sagira notched her arrow and took up a defensive position behind Ratana and her as they moved forward, intent in their stalking.

The golden prince was surrounded by other raging battles as they entered a great hall, her soliders actions surged as they reacted to her very presence, most almost instantly overcoming their opponent.

The prince was surrounded by twenty of her best soliders, he flung them back with blows from a great hammer as if they were mere play things.

"Stand down."

Her orders echoed through her soliders minds and they straightened up from their defensive positions and backed away from the prince.

"What sorcerery is this, that you control your men like a pack of dogs?!"

Drawing her sword she stepped forward to meet his challenge, "I shall not waste their blood when I shall defeat you myself princess."

The golden prince roared at her words and raised his hammer charging at her, she was already prepared for his blow, her blade had been forged by the dwarves, at the very heart of Nevidiliar, light and lightening surged
around them as their weapons met, his eyes went wide when her sword did not break upon the first blow.

The prince was mere inches taller than her she noted as he pressed down on her trying to use the height advantage to best her.

A flash of blue and green let her know the sorcerer had found Ratana again, "Loki! Quit playing with the sorceress and help me put an end to this!"

She used his momentary distraction and yanked a smaller blade from her belt, driving it into the gut of the blonde.

A ghost of laughter caught her ear as she whipped around seeing Ratana
held by a tall dark hair man holding a blade to her neck.

In an instant her own blade was at the other princes neck, "It seems we may have reached an impasse," his voice was dark and smooth and sent shivers down her spine as his green eyes nearly glowed with anger.

"Not quite," Sagira moved out of the shadows, "Harm a hair on our sisters head and you will not be alive by the time you hit the ground sorcerer. "
