A loud bang wakes me from my slumber.
Ugh what was that?
I flick my bedside light on as I climb out of bed. Where did my dressing gown go?
I find it hanging on the back of my door, slipping it on to keep me warm, adding my slippers for extra measures. I sneak out of my bedroom and glance down the hallway.
"Fuck, what the hell is that?" I hear Jenna shout as she walks into something else.
I enter the room and flick on the main light.
"Ahh, fuck, what are you doing?" She shouts at me.
"You woke me up. What the fuck are you doing? It's..." I check my watch, "2am!" I whisper shout at her.
"Need a wee, but I can't see where I'm going!" She actually shouts at me.
"Shhh!"I tell her, "This way." I am not surprised she's lost. I show her to the bathroom and back. I then go back to bed.
What an idiot. I roll my eyes thinking about her. Only Jenna could be loud enough to wake me from a deep sleep.
My bed welcomes me back and I'm asleep in minutes.
---
I let myself sleep a little longer this morning. I can't hear any noise from Jenna or Benjamin, assuming they're both still asleep. I have a quick shower, then dress ready for going to work then go down to the kitchen to make us some sausage and bacon sandwiches.
"Something smells nice." I hear Jenna say, encouraging me to turn around.
"Good morning, for the second time." I say to her. "Hope you're hungry." I turn back to the oven where the bacon and sausages are cooking.
"I am actually, just realised that we didn't have dinner last night, did we." She tells me as she sits at the island. She takes a sip of the orange juice I'd poured her.
"Yeah I realised when I grabbed some watermelon before going to bed last night." I flip the sausages. "Do you want any sauce?"
"Ketchup please." She asks.
I fetch the ketchup and brown sauce from the fridge, putting them onto the island.
As I'm putting everything together, Benjamin comes into the kitchen, also complimenting how it's smelling.
I serve the plates of breakfast, "Enjoy." I say to them, digging into my own sandwich.
When they're done, they call for a taxi and head back to their homes about half an hour before I need to leave for work.
I clean up, doing the dishes and wiping the surfaces. I open some windows to allow the cooking smell to reduce.
I leave the house, locking up as I go. I find my sunglasses in my car as it's really bright. My favourite weather!
The drive to work is relaxing with the sun warming the car.
I pull up on the car park, finding a spot that won't get crowded. I don't like people round my car...
The shift is relatively busy for a Wednesday, but it allows the time to go quickly.
"Hi everyone." Sapphire says as she walks through the door, a minute past 3, twat, I think to myself. "Busy lunch?" She asks, looking at the booking system.
"Yeah, it's been manic." Hannah says. "Only just got rid of the last table." She's laying the table that has just left while I get my cardigan and bag.
"Right, lovelies, I'm getting off, have a good shift tonight and I'll see you all tomorrow." I wave to them as they all say goodbye, while I walk out of the door.
