As I'm filling my wine glass, my watch buzzes, alerting me to a call coming through. I go to the kitchen table, Archer still talking to Adam by the front door, and see that the call is from Jenna.
"Hey Gorgeous, did you say you're racing tonight?" She asks, drinking something slurpy.
"Fuck yeah, I've been dying to get my helmet on for weeks now." I take a gulp of my wine, "Are you and Benjamin coming to mine first, we can have a drink before we go."
"Sound like a plan, how far are we going tonight? Is it far?" Another slurp down the phone.
"Tonight we're about an hour and a half away, think they want all the pros there for 8, if I remember correctly."
"Brill, we will be at yours for 6 then. Is that okay?" She asks. I hear her chewing something next.
"That's fine, what the fuck are you eating?" I take another gulp of my wine, examining the now empty glass, damn I can drink this quickly...
"Oh, I'm just having lunch, nipped to KFC round the corner from the garage. Hey, aren't you due a service on your beast soon?" She questions.
"Yeah, I'll pop in tomorrow when I'm not busy at work. Right," I say, "I've got to go, gotta order Hudson's birthday shit, little fucker wants a home gym." I roll my eyes.
Jen laughs, "What the fuck does he want a home gym for?" She's still eating.
"He wants to be able to train CrossFit at home with Archer. They've been going to the gym while I've been poorly, my baby bro has started losing his puppy fat." I think about the chubby little boy that I've raised and how he's not that anymore.
"He's probably seen your man and his abs..." Jenna tells me. I confirm her theory before telling her that I've got to go.
"Who was that?" Archer asks, standing in the doorway, like he was earlier, looking all sexy.
"Jenna, they're coming here for 6ish. And I was just telling her I'm thinking of getting Hudson some stuff to use for working out in the garage, so the two of you don't have to go into town to train." I smile at him.
"Okay, sounds like a great idea, he said it was his birthday next week, shall I get him anything?" He frowns.
"Shall I send you some ideas while I'm looking?" He nods, "Any idea for brands? I don't want anything shit."
"Well, there's loads of good brands, the leisure centre use Matrix for their cardio and pin loaded machines, they've got some Black Box and Rogue stuff for lifting and functional skills, but if you want the best quality, I'd go with Bulldog Gear. That's what I'd want to have in a home gym of mine, they do some good CrossFit stuff too. Weight vests, ropes, rings, chalk... The list is endless. But if you're wanting to get a lot, you'd be better contacting them directly to see if you can get a bunch of stuff in a bundle, the high quality means it's a high price."
"Brill, thanks baby." I walk over to him to give him a kiss, a gentle kiss that lasts seconds, but reminds him that I love him.
"I've got to go and do a couple of hours at work, will you be okay until I come back?" He moves a lock of my hair behind my ear, looking deeply into my eyes, I almost swoon.
"I'll be fine, I've got to make this order then have a shower and get ready, I'll turn the Sonos on through the house, so make sure you have your key," he looks at me confused, "I can't hear the door opening when the whole house Sonos is on, so I'll lock the door." I say, placing my hands on his chest, feeling his strong muscles under my hands. I feel an ache develop between my legs and my cheeks heat thinking about what I need from him.
