''Everyone, wake up! We're under attack!''

Burnttail opened his eyes and raised his head, still drowsy from his sleep. He got up and shook his fur, then sprinted out of the warriors' den. It was still night, although Burnttail saw rogues everywhere in camp. He froze, looking around. What in StarClan's name..

''Them again!'' Dogspot ran out of the den, growling. Burnttail looked at her, confused. ''What do you mean by ''again''? Is this not the first time that these rogues attack you?''

''No!'' Dogspot turned her head to look at him. ''Remember at a Gathering when Frecklestar said that we were attacked by rogues and that Lilacheart and Aspenfeather died? These are the same rogues!''

Burnttail blinked in surprise, then he turned his head and unsheated his claws, growling, and looked at the rogues. He quickly jumped on a white tom and pinned him down, raking his claws down the tom's shoulder. He let out a snarl and tried pushing Burnttail off, but he dug his claws in the dirt so that he couldn't get shaken off. He bit the rogue's paw and the white tom let out a painful yowl. He started struggling, so Burnttail backed off. The white rogue growled at him and limped away.

Burnttail looked after him, confused. He gave up so easily!

Then he looked around as a realization hit him. But no warriors died in the last fight.. only a medicine cat and an elder.. these rogues are only going for the ones that can't defend themselves! These fox-hearts!

Burnttail looked around and ran towards Frecklestar, who was snarling after a brown tabby tom. ''Frecklestar! No! This is exactly what the rogues want. At the last fight that happened here, only Lilacheart and Aspenfeather died, right? A medicine cat and an elder. These cats don't care about fights, they just want to take down the cats that can't defend themselves!''

Frecklestar's eyes widened. ''You're right! Everyone, guard the nursery, the elders' den and the medicine cats' den!''

Burnttail turned around, but it was too late. A cream she-cat ran in the medicine cats' den. He unsheated his claws and ran after her. ''No you don't!''

He bursted in the medicine cats' den and pinned the rogue down before she could get to Briarpond. The medicine cat was crouched in a corner, looking at the fight with wide eyes. Burnttail spat and bit the rogue's throat. ''You fox-heart!'' He muffled through the rogue's fur. The rogue started yowling and struggling under the ginger tom, but he didn't let go.

''Burnttail, no!'' Briarpond suddenly yowled. ''You can't kill a rogue! Remember: a true warrior doesn't kill in order to win!''

Burnttail growled, but let go of the rogue and backed off, hissing and licking the blood off of his muzzle. ''You're right.'' Then he stared at the rogue. ''What you and your stupid friends are doing is wrong. Why attack cats that can't defend themselves?!''

The rogue got up and looked at Burnttail with narrowed eyes. ''You would never understand! We don't need healers! If cats die, then so be it. Only the strong cats survive! And elders have served their purpose in life, while kits are annoying and noisy!''

Burnttail snarled and lunged for the rogue, but the she-cat was too quick. She dodged and Burnttail fell on his belly, grunting. The rogue pinned him down and grinned, slashing her claws across the tom's back. ''Mouse-brained Clan cat.''

Burnttail growled and rolled away. The rogue let out a surprised squeak as she fell to the ground. The ginger tom soon got up and clawed the rogue's shoulder, then backed off, hissing. ''Get out while you still can.''

The rogue looked up and spat, but limped outside. Briarpond looked after the rogue, then back at Burnttail. ''Thank you.''

''No problem.'' Burnttail dipped his head and ran outside, looking around, shocked to see that the fight was still going and that there weren't so many rogues that were backing down. He growled, then looked around. I may be a RiverClan cat now, but ShadowClan's fighting skills could really help us now!
