A few moons passed since Burnttail joined RiverClan, and he was already used to his new life. He knew how to swim pretty well, he knew the territory very well and Frecklestar looked like she trusted him. However, some cats still didn't trust him and ignored him, but most of them did trust him.

Burnttail followed Troutpatch back in RiverClan's camp. He shook his fur when he got out of the river, then he padded inside and dropped his two minnows in the Fresh-kill pile. Troutpatch padded next to him and nodded. ''I have to say, Burnttail. Frecklestar didn't say why you joined us, but I'm glad you did! You act exactly like a RiverClan cat, just that you still use some of ShadowClan's ways, and that's not really that bad, either.''

Burnttail blinked in surprise, then he purred and dipped his head. ''I'm glad to hear that!''

Troutpatch dipped his head and padded away. Burnttail looked after him and sighed. I only went to one Gathering since I joined RiverClan. Frecklestar said that I'm one of their warriors, and even if the other Clans were curious, she didn't say anything else, and neither did Bumblestar. Snake wasn't mentioned it, either, but I was glad to talk a little bit with Sootblossom and Ebonyheart. They were sad that I left, but accepted my choice. I kind of miss them, but I know that if I stayed in ShadowClan I couldn't be focused on what I was doing anymore.

 ''Burnttail! Burnttail!''

Burnttail blinked and lowered his gaze. Nettlebrook's four kits were all around him, looking up at him. ''Burnttail!''

The tom blinked and layed down. ''What is it?''

''You used to be a ShadowClan cat, right?'' Acaciakit asked, flicking her cream tail tip. ''How was life in there? Do ShadowClan cats really eat frogs and crowfood?''

Burnttail blinked, then laughed. ''We did use to eat frogs, actually! They're not that bad, and no, we don't eat crowfood.''

''Yuck!'' Grasskit spat. ''Frogs sound disgusting!''

''They're pretty good, actually.'' Burnttail meowed, then he thought for a little bit before speaking again. ''Although I think I like fish better than frogs. They're quite delicious, even if the other Clans say they're not!''

''It really is!'' Sweetkit meowed, flicking her white tail. ''But why did you leave ShadowClan?''

Burnttail froze, then hesitated. ''Well, er.. that's a pretty personal question, actually. I don't think I want to answer, I'm sorry.''

Lavenderkit snorted, but she didn't say anything. Before anyone else could do or say anything, a yowl came from the entrance of the camp.

 ''Frecklestar!''

Burnttail raised his head and saw Tornfeather and Swiftbrook waiting, with a silver she-cat standing between them. She had a purple collar and looked a bit anxious.

Burnttail hissed, then looked at the four kits. ''Get back to your mother now.''

''I'm right here.'' Nettlebrook meowed, then dipped her head to Burnttail. ''But thank you for keeping my kits busy. I sometimes can't handle all four of them!''

Burnttail laughed and got up. ''No problem.'' He then turned and padded towards the two warriors. More cats gathered around, and Frecklestar stepped forward, tilting her head. ''Who's this?''

''We found this kittypet in our territory.'' Tornfeather explained, looking at the silver she-cat. ''She said she was lost and just wanted to hunt a little bit before trying to find her way home, so we decided to bring her here so you can decide what to do with her.''

''Hmm.'' Frecklestar meowed, looking at the kittypet, but before she said anything, Dogspot got up. ''I think we should let her eat a little bit of our Fresh-kill! She looks friendly!''
