I freaking love you guys! I leave for two days and, when I come back, I have 8 more views. That's so awesome and you guys are awesome (yeah, it's not many but I'm a new writer. Deal with it :p)! As promised, here you go!

After walking – and dragging – for what felt like hours, Nathaniel was satisfied with a small café he found about thirty minutes away. Polly's constant coughing and whimpering might have affected his decision on where to stop. They fell into a table in the back and Poll tried her hardest not to move her neck at all.

"I'm going to get some water," he told her while standing up. "Can you call Maria and tell her where we are?"

She coughed in reply and raised her eyebrow. Was her neck not bruising like the other woman's was?

"Right, stupid question. I'll call her once I get back with your water, ok?" She nodded lightly in agreement and he went over to the counter where a woman was laughing with one of her costumers.

"Hi." he smiled at him when he approached. "How are you?"

Taken back by the sudden kindness, it took a moment for him to reply. "Um... I'm good. How are you?"

The woman's laugh filled the café. "I'm good, thanks for asking. What can I get you today?"

"A water and one of your ham and cheese sandwiches, please," he ordered and pointed to the sandwich he was talking about in the display.

"Coming right up. Would you like that sandwich toasted?" She was already pulling the food out and grabbing a water bottle from a chest in the back.

"No thanks," he informed her and she nodded and handed him both the sandwich and water.

"Sounds good. That'd be five dollars and fifty cents." After handing it over, he grabbed his food and went back to his table. The woman and other guest started back up their happy chatter.

"Here you are," he announced and placed the water on the table.

"Thanks," she croaked and cracked the top. The water poured down her throat in sweet coolness. It quelled the pain in her throat slightly until she had to swallow. Once she swallowed, the pain spiked once again and she tried to keep herself from coughing up all the water in her mouth.

Despite her efforts, she barely managed to swallow the last of the water before coughing her lungs, and quite possibly her heart, out. Nathaniel leaned over to pat her roughly on the back. Normally, that would've made the coughing better, but now, with her throat in the condition it was, it only caused more pain to spike through her entire body. Her limbs that were still exhausted from the lack of oxygen during that elevator ride twitched as the pain shot through them. Everything in her body ached.

When she was no longer in the process of dying, he pulled out his phone and dialed Maria's number that he'd programmed in earlier. The phone rang repeatedly and Polly, who was leaning in close so she could listen as well, felt fear swell within her at the thought of something happening to her.

"They caught her," she croaked in a whisper. "That's the only reason she wouldn't answer."

Just then, the phone clicked and a voice came through. "Nathaniel?"

"Maria, thank goodness," she gasped.

"What took you so long to pick up? We thought something happened," Nathaniel growled irately.

"No, I'm fine. They just passed where I was hiding, but they didn't find me. Sorry, I could only just pick up once they got away. Are you guys down and safe?" Her voice was still shaky, but she sounded honestly concerned.
