I Like Travis

Sals POV

It was almost June. In a few weeks it would be summer vacation. Parties,hanging out, being dumb. I couldn't wait. While walking to class I saw Travis and Sara. They were showing him something on her phone. I wish I could be friends with Travis. While he no longer called us "faggots" and apologized for what he had done to us he was still a little mean. Even though he smiled at me everyday I can't help but wonder if it was Sara forcing him to keep going. But I can't let that get in the way of my plan. Technically I didn't have a plan. I was gonna tell my friends and then make a plan. They had all forgiven Travis so surely this couldn't go bad.

A lot had happened this school year. Back in October to December Travis would only even look my way to call me a slur. But after he met Sara, he changed for the best. I'm still a bit sad Travis never took my offer. I remember the day Travis apologized to Larry and Ash. Ash had slapped Travis and they ended up on the ground laughing. Larry on the other hand was more difficult. It still ended in a hug though. He also apologized to me and Todd. That was back in February I think. A bit after that time with Travis. I walked into class. It was like any other day.

But at lunch it all changed. After a minute of everyone talking and eating I interrupted. "Can I tell you guys something?" Everyone nodded "So don't overreact, don't gasp it'll draw attention, don't do anything weird." "Yeah we get it now tell us Sal" Ashley leaned in closer "I like Travis" Everyone went quiet. Fuck? "Guys say something-" Ash grabbed my shoulders "Like like like like? Like you like like him?" I pushed her away "Stop with that 1st grade bullshit Ash you know what I meant" "Well what do you plan to do with that?" I was confused "What?" "What're you gonna do now? Are you gonna tell Travis?" Larry butted in.

I pushed him away "That's the reason I told you guys, would you help me figure out what Travis likes so I can try to ask him out in the best way possible?" "But how do you even like him? He used to be such a bitch" "I dunno, why do you have a crush on Sara? You've never even had a full conversation with them," She opened her mouth to say something but kept quiet and crossed her arms. "I guess we'll help you. But how do we even get information on what Travis likes?" I looked away, Todd seemed to know what I was thinking "You don't mean what I think you mean do you?" "Well what are you thinking that I'm thinking?" "I'm thinking that your dumbass is gonna stalk him," I put up my pointer finger "It's the best way to do it!" "But what if you get caught" Larry whisper yelled. "I'll just play it off, now are you guys gonna help me or not?" Ash sighed "Fine we'll help, Chug and Maple do you wanna tag along?" Ashley looked back at them. "I can help some days I guess, what about you Chug?" "Uhm sure"

We discussed how we would work it out. Maple agreed to be the one who asked Travis where he was planning to go after school. Chug would tell us when Travis went to leave school. Then me,Larry, n Ash would stalk him physically. Todd stalked him online. It was a bit weird but I didn't wanna mess up. I would've asked Lilli to tell me what he liked but I don't think she would tell me. Not because they disliked me but because he doesn't like sharing things about Travis that he might want to be kept hidden. It's sweet that she cares that much though.

We would start next week. I saw the two friends part for their only separate class. Maple would ask Travis where he was heading after school in that class. Travis almost never went directly home recently. It was strange, considering how his dad is fucking crazy why would he let his son who he hits go off like that after school. Maybe he isn't home as much. That'd be a shocker. I walk into my next class. I feel jittery, I can only hope this goes well.

Class was hard. I was pretty good in school but I couldn't bring myself to pay attention today. Only two more classes and school will end. But I have to meet up with Maple and the rest of them before I go to my next class. "Hey Maple did you ask?" She looks to be smiling almost. "He said him and Sara were gonna go to the craft store downtown right after school," The rest of them walked up "Where's he going" asked Ash "The crafts store downtown with Sara," "That's kinda weird, I need to get some new paint anyways" "How'd you ask him Maple?" She shrugged "I didn't have to. I heard him talking about it," Todd brought the attention to him "That might be better than asking him, instead of asking you could just try to overhear one of them talking about after school plans," Everyone nodded, Todd was really smart man. "Alright I can do that,"
